You can’t blame Corbyn for Johnson changing his advice every day.Everything looks normal foodwise in Bedale this morning , even the market is operating. This of course may change when the Virus effects really begin to bite and by next week when the people with "serious health conditions " are more restricted ", although it's noted that Corbyn seems to have indicated that he's exempt from the rules which are meant to protect the public.
I can honestly say hand on heart me an the Mrs have done nothing different shopping wise, we have bought nothing we wouldn’t buy on an ordinary shopping trip. We have bought nothing extra of anything - i guess we’re in a small minority but we refuse to be selfish twàts

I don't think borders are closing to critical supplies like food and medicines. That's what I heard yesterday but you never know right now.Suppliers and supply chain are working normally at this stage so in the short term at least it is reasonable to expect shelves will continue to get filled.
Problems could arise as people get ill or self isolate.
Clearly, as staff shortages bite (from supplier to shop) there could result in shortages somewhere along the line. Stock will be prioritised fairly across stores and some store hours may be cut.
Further down the line it could be more difficult. As each country becomes more and more xenophobic you have the following dilemma....
Fresh food shelves empty in (for instance) Spain, with trucks of fresh found bound for France UK et al.
Interesting challenge about closing trading borders in the short term.
At least we can use it as a practice run (sorry, gallows humour)
I’m hearing from my friends in banking that there are signs of increased withdrawals - no doubt we will have queues at the bank by Friday.
I just went to the chemists for paracetamol - both staff and customers losing their manners! It took on a new level last night and today. By far the worst day so far.
They are now piling into booze, ready meals, meat and protein.
This will be the biggest day for food shopping ever - includes xmas
Some really nasty barstewards out there having a go at store workers because of stock levels.
I don't think Tesco have put any restrictions on numbers in the same way as Aldi and the Co-op have. It is the only way that you'll be able to curb the selfishness short of issuing ration books.I popped to tesco in Coulby to get a few "normal" things and I was totally shocked. We get a weekly delivery and cannot get one from tesco or asda till 4th April.. wtf is that all about..
Anyway in tesco, I walked around shaking my head, it was 4:30pm and it was almost deserted, except 90%of knobs with trolleys higher than a christmas shopping. I wanted toilet roll, (we have 1 left, empty), soap (empty), cat litter (empty wtf), bread (empty, lucky we have flour (which that aisle was packed full ).. so I go for a fun wander.. frozen stuff like chips and peas, empty, tampons... empty, tinned stuff empty, painkillers.. yep empty.. most chilled meats (except the expensive stuff.. empty)
I have been a, wtf is this all about kind of person and thinking it was a media frenzy, but today I felt like it was 28 days later or last man on earth situation.. then I saw that utter **** Boris (who I supported) say this is like during the war.. which will made the ***** stockpile even more.. I give up on society.. in front of me in the queue were an older couple who were just wanting to get the basics and didn't know what to do.. welcome to 2020 *******!
