What was your favourite game at Ayresome Park?

For me it has to be either the Wigan promotion game from Division Three or the Villa ZDS Cup semi-final, with the Villa game just shading it. I thought we would never get to play at Wembley and finally we had. Some great days on the Holgate under Brucie Rioch, who requested no swearing or missile throwing!

Bradford City in the playoffs.
6 nil versus Sheffield utd. Ripley hatrick
A night game vs Derby County under Todd. 3 -0. We dominated 90mins...Best I've ever seen and enjoyed. Just 90ins of one way traffic.

Mine is Man City at home in the FA Cup 3rd round, 4th January 1992. 1-0 down on 79 minutes with City seemingly in control; two minutes of mayhem later we're 2-1 up and it could have been three as Ripper hit the post after a breakaway by Andy Payton, as City fell apart. Added to that it was one of those games that started under a cold cloudless blue sky and ended in darkness under the floodlights! It came only a month or so after we'd beaten City in the League Cup in 'The Fog', another favourite!

The Oxford game in 67. We were really down and out at the beginning of that season. Slowly but surely we managed to claw our way into contention.

I am sure this game remains at the forefront of every one who attended. What a night! What a crowd! What a result!

we’ve achieved better than this with better players. However the sense of connection with the club the players , the sense of occasion was one I have very rarely experienced.
Say no more squire. Say no more!

Too many stick in the memory banks...

Boro 6-1 Norwich 1980.
Boro 3-2 Newcastle 1983.
Boro 3-2 Arsenal FA Cup 1983.
Boro 4-4 Mansfield Freight Rover Trophy 1985.
Boro 4-0 Bournemouth 1986. I think they were top, and we were 2nd at the time (Division 3)
Boro 2-2 Everton FA Cup 1988.
Boro 6-0 Sheff Utd 1988.
Boro 4-1 Newcastle 1990.
Boro 4-2 Millwall 1994. I think Millwall were top of the 1st Division at the time, and unbeaten away from home.

But if I had to pick one that I could go back and re-live, it'd be the 2-2 with Everton in the cup. The atmosphere that night was brilliant.

26 oct 1963 v Sunderland the biggest crowd I have been in for a Home game 43,905,the week before we had lost at Scunthorpe 1-0 their first win of the season ( i was at that game also).Bryan Orritt a midfielder playing at centre forward in place of the injured Alan Peacock scored the 2 goals in a 2-0 win
