What was the first album you bought?

I got a few of these as presents. Some of them were ace.

This one is an absolute belter.. I still put it on now and again. I mean, Procul Harum "Conquistador", Lindisfarne "Lady Eleanor", Buffy st Marie "Soldier Blue", Mott "Midnight Lady", Joan Baez "The Night They Drove Old Dixy Down", Greyhound "I am what I am", Free "A Little Bit of Love", Traffic "Gimme Some Lovin" .... I mean, a great mix tape really. And a rare as hen's teeth gem, Laurie Styvers' "Beat the Reaper". I love it. One of my favourite presents from my childhood.

I think, it’s a while ago, Mott, Drive on, this was before they were called Mott the Hoople. One of the first tracks I played on guitar was apologies from side 2 - all 60 seconds of it.

Come on people, let's have a bit of honesty here, everyone's first album seems to be dripping in 'cool'. Let's add a bit of truth into the mix.......

Hold my beer…

I had a few that were given as presents when I was a kid. When I was around 7 or 8 I was given Queen’s first album, Brothers in Arms, and a Showaddywaddy album. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I still love the first two, Showaddywaddy… not so much! 😬

I don’t remember exactly which album I bought first but it was between MC Hammer’s ’Please Hammer Don’t Hurt ‘Em’, Betty Boo’s ’Boomania’ and Poison’s ‘Flesh & Blood’.

Cloughie was amazing and I was 9 years old in 1957 when I signed up for life. My favourite uncle bought this for me and I still have it. A few months later, my family emigrated from Boro to Canada.
