What happens after Gibbo?

In the championship though I'd imagine we'd get another set of steady owners, much like Gibbo
We really really wouldn't.
We would have nobody at all willing to guarantee the massive losses we make in the Championship - and would continue to make.
Ipswich anyone?

I'm sorry but that is a frankly ridiculous thing to say. No supporter in their right mind could ever say the wouldn't want their club being taken over and slowly being built up to being one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world, while watching some of the very best players in the world play for your club.

What about if the club go bust (extreme example) when the rich owners get bored and decide to take their ball home, would every supporter "in their right mind" be happy with that too ?

The trouble is we are running out of evil country's to use us for sports washing. Who's left? Maybes we can use our North Korean connection to get Kim il Yung or what ever the chubby one is called to invest in the club. Yes people may have to starve to fund our player purchases, but that would be a small price to pay if we were finally able to attract a proven goalscorer to the club.

The club could very easily go bust if Gibson changes his mind, or for that matter any other type of owner when there is so much debt involved and if revenue becomes so pitifully low.
City are very lucky in that they have owners who have shown competence and real long term commitment to Manchester, not just City.
Not every foreign owner can or would do quite so much good - a huge under-statement.

The Leicester ownership have been terrific. I'd be very happy with that too.
Liverpool's owners have done very well.

I would personally not like a leveraged buyout like the Glaziers at Manchester United. I can't get my mind round it being ok to borrow a fortune simply to buy the club.
I'd hate the Newcastle or PSG ownership, or other morally extinct ownership.

Then there are the questions of motive and judgement, in addition to morals and finances.
It is a complex mix.

I'd personally like us to have someone at the helm with:
Huge stable long term funds they don't need a return from, or to call in quickly.
Long term commitment to our Club and real interest in our area and the club infra-structure.
Excellent business acumen and experience.
Huge knowledge of the football industry, connections and a commitment to appoint the best people to run the Football Club and make the best decisions.

So, not much there then!
Gibson simply hasn't the money, but he does have unbelievable commitment and passion.
Gibson has the experience, but just makes some shocking decisions.

Of course there could be better than we have, but there could be a hell of a lot worse too - and much more likely in our current position.
