We're missing a bit of ' blunt force trauma '

We're just so ever so polite ...
A bit Carricky,
Getting out of this league often needs a brute as one of your 3 up top
I agree. We are too nice. Not many in that team would cause or get involved in a fight. I think Burgzorg and Fry are our “rougher” players. I think Morris won’t be afraid to leave his foot in also.

Fry doesn’t get in this current team, he would stand out like a sore thumb due to his inability to play the ball to a team mate.

Morris should have started Saturday. Far too whimsical in midfield, as demonstrated by their goal.
Barlasser is just not upto it….morris has to start every time even if he is a bit tired, the adrenaline of game day would’ve gotten him through.
Another Carrick mistake. How many more before he starts to attract some realistic questioning of his decision making.

Or results have nothing to do with having no bite or being too nice.

Our results are entirely dependent on not finishing enough of our chances.

Carrick won't really care about that. The goals will come. He will, probably, be concerned at some of the soft goals we have conceded.

We’ve been conceding soft goals since Carrick walked through the door.

Indeed we have. Not sure that it's too do with being too nice though. Very poor defending at times and a style of play that does commit men forward.
We’ve been crying out for someone in centre midfield who will “get stuck in” for the 2 years Carrick has been in charge. Morris is that man, and although we have conceded some soft goals this season we are much better with him in the team.

We have also failed to address the defensive weaknesses in that time and there is little sign that we are going to.

I would be interested to know how many goals conceded have originated on our left side i reckon at least 75%

You may be right. It seems obvious that Morris is a shoe in for midfield.

We are missing over half our defenders. Though, we will still concede soft goals even with all of them fit. It's a symptom of how we play.

Ultimately if we finish our chances at a decent rate it probably won't matter that we concede stupid goals.

We conceded 2 mins to half time with defenders trying to flood forward to score another.
Good / promotion winning teams would have kept the defenders back and kept the ball, consolidated till half time.

I think you are probably right and it isn't a big secret that we are wide open down the left. I would be surprised if the number of goals we concede down the left isn't in direct correlation with the percentage of attacks that come down the left.

well it is 1 shot on target means 1 goal for opposition against us isn’t it
Thought that was a league rule

Said to my son coming out of ground
re Heckingbottom.
Don’t like the bloke one bit or his style of play.
If he was in charge of our squad promotion would be just about guaranteed.
Carrick needs some of his professionalism / nastiness if you like.
We are just a soft touch at the moment.
We don’t know how to play referees like other teams do consequently we never get any decisions.
On Saturday how Preston didn’t have any players sent off was amazing.
It was all down to the crowd to boo the referee nothing from the players getting on at Ref to do something about it.
Players getting straight up after being kicked.
You will never get anywhere in football now being nice.
Sorry rant over.
