We broke quick & pressed Forest in the 1st half, a cracking goal from Andrez, 2nd half we dug in & then got a hold of the game, its the speed of the players I was excited with, some think we've lacked for a good few years

Crooks was quiet both halves but when he got the ball he oozes class, hardly gives the ball away
Uche was so unlucky with his low header

As bad as we were v Coventry we were as good tonight

Absolutely buzzing

Delighted with the win. Delighted with the 2 goal scorers and happy with team selection and formation. We were efficient and it’s a fabulous result but wouldn’t say the performance was anything to get carried away with. Hopefully that comes in the next game after confidence from tonight.

At times going forward I thought we looked really good, especially on the break. No standout performances in my opinion, everyone was hit and miss, but all of the new signings look like they have something to offer. When we get McNair and Bola back we really could be an exciting side to watch.

Would like to point out though, I couldn’t give a toss about the performance tonight was all about the result and building on that now and hopefully the performances come with result going forward. All about the 3 points tonight

Definitely get Bola back in but wouldn’t shoehorn a place for McNair unless he earns it.

Yet I agree that we might look half decent when Bola is back, McNair for hall would only strengthen us too. If like to see payero given a go on Saturday if fit and see what he has to offer

Don’t think at any point in the game we were excellent although loved Tavs assist and Sporars sublime powerful finish.
The only thing with Tav, he does a Brit too much, trying the difficult verging on impossible shot, when a simple pass to a player in a much better position is required.

True. Was happy with his composure for the assist though. He’s not the perfect player by any means and he will frustrate at different points in the game but he’s always capable of producing a match winning moment.

I think we could do with him in the side for his ability on set pieces. But yeah, it's hard to know where to fit him in the side. He's not as good as Hall or Fry in defense, and not as good as Lea-Siliki, Howson or Crooks in midfield. We looked shaky in defense tonight though and I'd feel more comfortable with Fry, Hall and McNair in a 3 at the back.

I think Payero would have got a run out tonight if he was fit as well. His injury came at the completely wrong time.

Absolutely no chance we should go 3 at the back. We don’t have a wing back at the club. Dijksteel can’t go forward and Jones can’t defend and looks restricted going forward. We have 2 great full backs in Dijksteel and Bola and 2 head the ball centre half’s in Fry and Hall. We surely can’t play wing backs now after Coventry game

3 at the back doesn't seem to suit us now dijksteel is our only option and rwb and he's shown over the last few games prior to tonight that he's not a natural. Needed Spence if that was the system we were going to use.

With a 5-2-3/3-4-3 you don't always need to have the wing backs driving forward. Dijksteel and Bola are more than capable of playing in that formation. I wouldn't be surprised to see us playing that at times this season, because we look really vulnerable with 4 at the back and better teams will hurt us.

Crooks is definitely better in midfield than up top.plenty of options going forward now. We still look very vulnerable at the back though

You do need wing backs driving forward otherwise the forwards are isolated and they are getting no service. If we sign a couple of wing backs then I would be all for it but until then we can’t play it. Dijksteel is especially poor in that position but he was fine tonight at right back with a man infront of him

You need them to offer support and join the attack, but in a 5-2-3 with Hernandez and Tavernier as the wide attackers they wouldn't need to do as much going forward as they would without natural wide players ahead of them. They'd be there to support the attack rather than being expected to provide the main wide threat. I think Dijksteel and Bola are move than capable of doing that, although I agree it's not either players natural role.
