Well Done Ben

What has he achieved so far? Genuine question.

What has he achieved so far? Genuine question.

He's managed to convince people that paying over the odds to the private owner of a small provincial airport and then pouring millions of pounds of public money into said airport to cover its ongoing losses will somehow transform the area into an economic colossus. You know, like it was in the 1980s when the airport was also in public ownership.

That said, once Covid travel restrictions are lifted, local people will be pleased to have had the option of flying off on holiday from Teesside Airport, before they choose the cost savings, wider options and better flights offered at Newcastle or Leeds/Bradford.

Only been back in the Boro since 2017 and all I have seen is Ben's passion for the region and his wanting to put it back on the map with much needed investment. The opposition however or whomever has only been evident in the run up to the election with very little to offer or fight with.

Not a penny to be spent up here by his lot but as soon as his job is created the magic money tree appears.
He’s done a whole bag of nowt so far.

Every day he's blowing his own trumpet
I don’t find him likeable, I think he was on best behaviour when he first got elected but I’ve noticed recently underlying a Tory arrogance coming through when I see him on the telly.

He is another one who saw the window of opportunity with the airport and access to central government money and wriggled through it.

It will all end in tears, give it time.

Hats off to the airport and long may it continue but as for the other two, fingers crossed, but in the case of the Development Corporation all that says is “Blah Blah Blah”!

I'm at the point now where I just say **** it, let them get on with it.

Let's see how happy the people of Hartlepool are with their new MP in 12 months time.
Let's see if the PCC can make amy improvements in Cleveland Police.
Let's see if the Port of Hartlepool can see any benefit from the Tees Valley Freeport Area.

They've got nobody else to blame.

The Freeport will redistribute jobs from other places, so expect to see Hartlepool gain from it.
