Well Covid finally got me

I know it’s really hard aet for you, I can’t begin to to even understand how you feel. If you do one thing today step outside. Probably the hardest thing for you to do, but it would be a big achievement if you did that today.

you never know one step outside my turn into 5000
It’s evil is depression. Lost count of the days I’ve lost through it. Oh well.

Aet crack a cold one (one only) grab a good book and lose yourself in it.
Yeh but I can’t really read at the moment. My condition makes it difficult for me to concentrate for long periods and my eyes hurt. Can only really hack looking at a laptop/phone screen for 5 mins at a time.

Not wishing to scare monger but the uk are creating the perfect Petri dish for vaccine resistant strains of covid. With a large proportion of the public vaccinated and the virus running wild we are creating the perfect conditions to give the virus an opportunity to mutate to bypass the vaccine.

As I say not wishing to worry anyone but this has been on my mind for a while. I am hoping someone will give me lots of scientific evidence why my layman's understanding is wrong?

5000.... I get your point and great advice. I just dug up a Bush and I am streaming with sweat. Enjoying a cold beer now so there is that. You might want to start with 50 steps aet, its damn hot.

1200 scientists agree with you sadly.

Didn't you say Mrs Pauliej had also tested positive? In which case that's probably what the app has picked up and you are in the clear. But yeah, people are getting sick of it. I had 8 days in solitary and I'm absolutely sure I didn't spend 15 minutes closer than 2 metres to someone else on the day in question.
It's true Mrs Pauliej has Covid but when I spoke to test and trace on Thursday he said that was irrelevant and my isolation finishes as planned. Mrs Pauliej has six days isolation left too so it just doesn't fit in with her track and trace timings.
None of it makes bloody sense and being self employed I cannot afford another random 4 days off. 🙁😡❤️

A real shame that young people are getting the blame. They've sacrificed a lot this year to protect those that are most vulnerable.

The last year they've been locked down from life due to a bug that probably won't even register for the majority. They are getting bad press for not getting vaccinated, for going out now they can and for being selfish.

I dont think think the mask exemption is just a youngster thing, I see it across age groups.

When cases are as high as they are, and we go to watch football in a pub, the shouting/ alcohol / celebration is asking for covid. only takes one masked or unmasked person in a room for 2 hours with or without symptoms to hit 25% of the pub.

Don't hate the people as @Randy says. Hate the rules, the governance, or indeed nature. Or Bats...

I have been saying just this for ages but not as succinctly as you just put it.

The young have done their bit the same as the rest of us and when you're 18 it's hard to see past Friday night.

I’ve blocked her from my Twitter. Utter doom and gloom merchant. She was constantly being retweeted by folk I follow.
We all have the problem of sorting scientific opinion at the moment aet. For most of us it's easy enough. In your position, I can see why you pick and choose who you read.

Keep your spirits as high as you can fella.

If you want someone to talk to pm me and I will give you my number and we can talk.

b***r, I was hoping I was wrong and was reluctant to post this because I didn't want to make folks anxious.
Not trying to make anyone anxious.

Just posting that the consensus amongst scientists seems to suggest the easing of all restrictions isn’t the right way to go.

I don’t follow her on twitter but had seen the science report and that was the first post that linked it.

Whether you like her or not isn’t relevant to the actual report itself.

She flip flops all the time the same as Devi. I've done the same.
We all flip flop Randy as laymen. We read! Form an opinion, read some more! Change opinion.

It's incredibly difficult, unless it's your area of expertise to sort through scientific opinion.

Just reading a Twitter post and didn’t realise myself that you should get a pcr with any symptom, and not to do lft

seem plenty did the lft until positive so thought would put the education piece after learning this myself

I should add it’s what the health secretary advised people to do as well 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’ve just stumbled across this on BBC website.

I hadn’t actually realised (or had forgotten) the discrepancy was so big between the two, and the majority of people who have gotten Pfizer are likely to only have had one jab.

On the plus the side the ability to keep people out of hospital remains pretty even in the 90%+ range
