Welcome to wrexham.

On a side note, you can tell Phil Parkinson absolutely hates being featured in the show.

Nature of the beast I know but it's a bit redundant the first episode playing up the "if we don't get promoted this season then the club is financially screwed" storyline given absolutely everybody knows how it ends

Its not a 'fly on the wall' thing though is it? They bought a football club to make a heavily sanitised 'documentary' about, and see what they could achieve with it.

I don't doubt they are doing good things for Wrexham on the whole and that there's a quid pro quo, and I'm not 'against' it. Or against you or anyone else enjoying it.

I just find it uninteresting given their motive, which is ultimately just to make a popular TV show that helps bring about legendary status for themselves in North Wales and the wider football community, and show it to the whole world via a hugely popular OTT viewing platform. I wouldn't pay any attention to Wrexham if this wasn't going on, and when it comes to TV, I prefer to watch repeats of The Office on Gold. :) ;)
stopping in watching repeats of the office.. boring? not for me .. i like it

Exactly it’s not a show about them it is their show

It seems clear now that This was the driving reason why they bought it to make this show.

As for the global fans… I agree snd that is made the us tour more ridiculous as why not play Man U and Chelsea in say oh Wrexham
You can do something yourself whilst doing good for others

Fully agree. I just don't think it makes for good TV, they're not curing cancer. I don't care anymore about them than any other team in the lower leagues. If a Disney documentary was made about Yeovil Town I wouldn't watch that either. Unless it was genuine fly-on-the-wall and showed proper dressing fights and arguments etc, but owners don't allow that nowadays. They just don't make em like they used to.

You would think boro fans would get the Wrexham story. They community is heavily effected by the club. Like we were. The demographic of the area doesn’t feel that dissimilar to us.

I don’t think it dresses itself as doing anything lifechanging. Although they have changed some life’s like making volunteers having paid for job

They show Phil Parkinson effing and jeffing in the dressing room occasionally, unedited

Mate its just about personal taste. As a TV show it doesn't interest me, feels like a big vanity project. If you're enjoying it though fair play to you. As I say, I'm not 'against' it in anyway.

You have ‘no interest’ in it but have been here debating the pitfalls of it.

I enjoy it, easy watching in a subject I like, football, with a decent football story.

I don’t find any of forced to be honest either, unlike say the fury one

Edit - that feels a little like irony to me

I have that on my Meural playlist, so once a week those boots pop up on my large digital art frame. Pops up just after an image of Wolf Mannion banging one in at Ayresome, I’d like to think wilf would hate the Tories too.

Anyway, why the hate towards them? I like both guys, seem friendly genuine people. They will of course get sucked into the boring culture war by the press because they’ve said something negative about the way the Tories operate and they seem to have a conscience and empathy which the right wing hate
Emmanuel Dogatetz.

I have no interest in watching it, its about 36 episodes. But I have enough of an interest to dismiss it as a vanity project to people who watch it, having read a few things about it. Horses for courses mate, you don't have to agree with me. I am not suggesting you shouldn't watch it, on any level.

You seemed to have formed an opinion on something without watching it?

Why shouldn't they seek Government funding to rebuild the Kop? Isn't that what the whole point of the levelling up fund is about?
Surely a football club who due to their multi millionaires owners are out competing clubs of a similar level do not need tax payers money to "level up". I'm not sure what your idea of leveling up is but that is certainly not mine.

I had never heard of these actors until they bought Wrexham. I still don't know what they do (apart from own Wrexham and, presumably, some acting)
