Loved the first series but the new one has actually annoyed me. These frigging multi millionaires are relying on government money to build their kop. And some bint who obviously doesn't have a clue about geography or travel stood up in the house of commons and said it takes 4 hours for people from the rest of Wales to travel to Cardiff or Swansea if they want to see an international match. Ffs try being English and living in the North East and trying to get to Wembley for the last century or so 😡

I think the cutesy Hollywood stars help out poor non league Wrexham angle has changed now as they are now just another rich mans play thing in the same vein as Salford etc.

That’s fluffy image is wearing thin when people see the money and players they are getting.

I think even Rob and Ryan know that realistically, there's very little chance of Wrexham actually making it to the Premier League under their tenure, so they're trying to make the club sustainable for the future.

Why shouldn't they seek Government funding to rebuild the Kop? Isn't that what the whole point of the levelling up fund is about? Obviously under the Tories they were never going to get it, the likelihood of Wales electing a Tory govt are about the same chances of Boro winning the Champions League in my lifetime.

I agree with Paul Mullin and his boots. **** the Tories.

Having visited Wrexham a couple of years ago, the town could do with a boost. Grim, full of drunken chavs and stuck in a time warp. Took the kids for a bite to eat on our way out of there, and a homeless person started eating our leftovers before we even got up from the table.

I think they’ll be in the championship within 5 years if not sooner

They are trying to leave the club sustainable when they leave. That was clear from that episode
The irony of your second sentence.

They're making a television programme. That is the start, middle and end of this story.

EDIT: I'm not saying they won't leave the club in a reasonable shape as they probably will. But the purpose of this whole thing is to produce a marketable TV show that they are the stars of, therefore I just have no interest in it. I'm not morally against it.

It also can’t be underestimated how much pull and unfair advantage that program has given them compared to those around them.

I have that on my Meural playlist, so once a week those boots pop up on my large digital art frame. Pops up just after an image of Wolf Mannion banging one in at Ayresome, I’d like to think wilf would hate the Tories too.

Anyway, why the hate towards them? I like both guys, seem friendly genuine people. They will of course get sucked into the boring culture war by the press because they’ve said something negative about the way the Tories operate and they seem to have a conscience and empathy which the right wing hate

But in fairness you could say that about any club who has rich owners. I just don't have any interest in watching this charade. I don't think its 'worse' than other situations though.

you say they have a television programme, but this is documentary. Therefore I really done see the irony.

I believe they are genuine about lifting the community. I think they are doing good things for Wrexham

Just starting season 2 now.

I really enjoy the parts of the documentary interacting with the proper Wrexham fans, locals and players, but I'm not really interested in hearing from the new Wrexham "fans" from around the world who are just jumping on the bandwagon because of the ownership and documentary.

Opening with the "King of England" visiting was irritating, especially when they made such a big deal about getting everything correct in terms of terminology in relation to Wrexham and Wales in the first season.
It's King of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, not England.
Though that whole segment does make it obvious that the UK population isn't the target audience for the documentary.

Its not a 'fly on the wall' thing though is it? They bought a football club to make a heavily sanitised 'documentary' about, and see what they could achieve with it.

I don't doubt they are doing good things for Wrexham on the whole and that there's a quid pro quo, and I'm not 'against' it. Or against you or anyone else enjoying it.

I just find it uninteresting given their motive, which is ultimately just to make a popular TV show that helps bring about legendary status for themselves in North Wales and the wider football community, and show it to the whole world via a hugely popular OTT viewing platform. I wouldn't pay any attention to Wrexham if this wasn't going on, and when it comes to TV, I prefer to watch repeats of The Office on Gold. :) ;)

Exactly it’s not a show about them it is their show

It seems clear now that This was the driving reason why they bought it to make this show.

As for the global fans… I agree snd that is made the us tour more ridiculous as why not play Man U and Chelsea in say oh Wrexham

He was the prince of wales though

I managed about ten minutes of the Sunderland til I die. Made it through about 15 of that spurs one. I just find these behind the scenes documentaries spectacularly tedious. They are so so painfully corporate. Give me John Sitton any day of the week. And you can bring your dinner too.
Exactly this. This all peaked in the late 90s.
