I think similar to you. I would expect him to sign a 3 year deal but it will contain a release clause that becomes active if we don’t get promoted. I think that would suit everybody.

I get that but technically Akpom is light years ahead of players like Rudy Gestede. I couldn’t believe last season how good he was when he got on the ball and was given space to play in. A better comparison would be to say would Gedtede score 29 goals playing as a number 10? Obviously the answer is no cos Gestede is nowhere good enough technically to play the role

Yup, this is the key to Akpom, his goals might dry up but his technique won't.
If he gets 15 next year it would be a good return, and probably means teams have had to throw more resources into managing him, so there should be other gaps elsewhere, we just need to exploit them.

We will have a minimum valuation on Chuba and anything under that we would reject and be prepared to let him leave for free as his worth over the course of next season is worth the gamble.
I think it is likely that with him having only one great season in the champo that clubs will not be prepared to meet the valuation and Chuba ends up staying almost by accident.
