Huh? If he signs a new contract with Boro today his value would jump immediately wouldn't it? You don't think we'd be discussing selling him for £8m with 3 or 4 years left on his deal?

And yet nobody else in the team scored so many. Therefore you have to conclude it is (at least partly) down to an improvement on Akpoms part.

I've actually said that in the post - Akpom was outstanding last season, but the key to him performing like that was the way we play.

Do you think he'd score 29 goals under Pulis or Warnock?

I also gave credit to him. Nobody said he didn't improve. I just don't think the improvement is as stark as it appeared.

Cameroon archer would have matched him if he was here for last year's pre-season and remained injury free.

Archer wouldn’t have scored as many as Akpom I don’t think but he will have broken the 20 barrier.

Hmm. Well firstly I don't know what his goals per game ratio was compared to akpom. Akpom did have most of the preseason with his team mates. Archer had to "settle in" so not comparing like with like really. All things being equal over a season, both those in the same team, I would take archer to be top scorer.

Didn't read the sheff thread. 10 mill may well be about his worth with just a year left. I would find it hard to value him to be honest.

Certainly 10 million isn't giving him away though, c'mon.
 
Remember when mark viduka was in the final year of his contract. He was outstanding. Imagine we had cashed in on him instead of him seeing out his final year.
We would have been relegated a year early with Rob hulse leading the line.

The stars are aligned. We have a 29 goal striker. We have a fantastic manager.

This is when you push! Not when you have a Muppet like Garry monk in charge.
