Realistically, half the squad will be surplus to requirements should we go up. Howson is one example unfortunately because he’s my favourite current Boro player. You need to buy PL standard players and trim the squad down of the previous lot. It’s the only realistic way.

Think we'd need an upgrade on McNair and Roberts. I'd sell Djiksteel and sign an upgrade on Smith.

I'm still hopeful Jones will come good again at some point and think Crooks would be worth keeping as an option coming off the bench.

3 in? we need more than 3 in to compete in the premier league. we cannot fall behind against prem teams it would mean many L's. if we sign giles then need just the two defenders (cb/rb) . 100% need a more solid defensive midfielder type, to plug gaps better. loan ramsey back and sign another winger/forward. and need that quality pacey striker to. and another GK.

I'm not even sure if we should sign archer and Ramsey they are loaned from Aston villa as they aren't good enough for mid table prem side yet we would need spend about 30 million to sign them.
