*was the difference between 1-2 and 1-5. at HT. And Blackburn weren't even that good. No goals and no points in their last 3 away games. Then 2 in the first 17 here. They looked decidedly panicked in the second half but our near total inability to do anything but hit the keeper was shameful.
 
We were awful for the first half an hour and then I think we stepped it up to average for the rest of the first half. And then continued to improve to a solid “alright” for the rest of the game. So to call that performance awful is simply not true. Some of it was. And when it counted it was. But we have been a lot worse this season. I really think we can stay up
 
We look sh*t scared to attempt to play any type of football in the first half.

Fry panics every time he receives the ball, McNair does more U-turns than the government.

Personally I thought Lenihan looked okay, he won almost everything (I haven’t seen the own goal again and was in north so poor view). He also takes the ball forward, a rarity with this team.

I said we ARE awful. The league table doesn’t lie. We are an awful side at the moment.

Lenihan comfortably the best out of the back 3 and played the most out of position out of the 3. Fry and McNair wind me up most games.
 
I think we need to strap ourselves in, there’s a few more years of disappointment on the horizon before anything gets better I think.
 
What annoys me about our players is when we're getting beat and trying to get back into the game and we give away needless fouls. Lenihan was guilty of one today late on, a daft push in the back. You just know the minute you raise your hands to the back of your opponent, he's going down and the ref is going to give it regardless of how much contact there is. It just kills any momentum we have and the opposition drag their heels taking the free kick. We've been guilty of it all season.
 
Did Cloughie / Paisley or Shankly once say the game is 99% confidence? We do have an honest bunch of players on the whole. Dael Fry for instance is a very nice lad, I've spoken to him a couple of times recently (about tk maxx). He's not flash, has no arrogance. In a way what you want from a footballer, but maybe he needs some arrogance, like Tav had. Tav didn't let form or the moaners affect his performance, and that's why he's in the premiership. That's where we are at the minute. Past managers have spoken of, but done little about it.
 
We are desperate for a ball carrying centre back. If we had one it would draw the opposition out and create space. As it is they just pass it across till one hoofs it and we lose possession. All teams have to do is just set up in front of us and wait for the false pass. I scream at Fry all the time to ‘carry the bloody ball out’ but he is like McNair and Lennaghan - side to side then hoof.
 
The present team is worse than the 82-85 teams I watched

We are the worst team in the division & over the season will sadly see so

Each opposition will know how to play us, we'll just pass the ball across the back, sometimes pass it back to the keeper, who plays it back out to CB who will just launch it

I know when I get into my seat how the game willl pan out, once or twice we'll be lucky & get away with it, mostly concede & lose, it is the way it is im afraid

Sums it up well. Pass it around the back until we find Fry who smashes it up the pitch and we lose possession and repeat. A truly awful side
