Warnock win percentage

Karanka - 47%
Monk - 46%
Pulis - 44%
Warnock - 40%

Clearly a drop off in results, and 40% gets you nowhere near playoffs, so can you see a significant upturn under him? Been in charge for 60 games now compared to Pulis' 80 so not like hes not had time to shape the squad and get his message across.

Do we need to start asking questions now or stick with it in the hope it somehow gets better when we seem to be getting worse regardless of who we sign?

I wonder what Karanka’s win percentage would be if we took out the season in the Premiership.

We seem to be pretty directionless at the moment to be honest, as much as I love Warnock, appointing him was a throw of the dice rather than any long-term plan. Either way, I can see this being his last season with us.

Thats the worry for me, we seem to be getting worse not better. The win percentage is going down not up, the manager seems to be making the club more divisive not cohesive.

Pointless stats mate
Utterly pointless because those managers had 10s of millions to spend and not cope with no crowds and lack of funds through a pandemic
Therefore, on that basis, in terms of this thread Pal,
I’M OUT. 👍

Alright 'pal',
Going back one more manager, Mowbray made profit over his tenure, unlike Warnock whos still spent over 8 figures on transfers, also had a win percentage of 40% and still got the chop. That relevant enough comparison for you 'mate'?

Though Neil might read the forum hes not gunna shag you 'kid'.

Agree without the net spend figures and what each manager inherited, comparisons are of limited use. Questionable that Woodgate was omitted from these comparisons and Warnock obviously came after Woodgate - fairly crtitical to understanding the true performance of Warnock.

Au contraire, the inclusion of Woodgate would only serve to highlight how poor he was in comparison to Pulis and Warnock, which is not up for debate and irrelevant. With only a season between and many of the same players still there from what Pulis left and what Warnock inherited the comparison between them still stands up to scrutiny.

Not sure that's true.

Over half the squad has changed in between Pulis' last season and Warnock's first full season.

McNair
Fry

Saville
Assombalonga
Fletcher
Howson

Johnson
Tavernier

They're the senior players that both Pulis and Warnock had available.
It's not even a full 11.

17 players from the Pulis squad had left by the start of last season.

9 of Warnocks first starting 11 were there when Pulis left, I'd consider that a fair continuation of playing squad.

Played 110 league Cup and play offs in 2 fullseasons in the championship under aitor.

Won 60 of them and won away.... Away to both man City and man United in the cups.

Astonishing record.

Whilst its an interesting comparison I think it's only a relevant measure after he's left and given I'm pretty sure he's here for the full season best revisited then.

Still, he upset Higgy that time so he’s a fraud according to many on here.

Don’t think I’ve ever noticed that, if anything Hignett seems to get more stick when these debates pop up.

Anyway Karanka was great, best manager in ages, but it’s perfectly reasonable to criticise the Prem season under him and also question his attitude and temperament (Higgy’s too for that matter), which seemed to rub a few up the wrong way - that’s all fine when results are good but when they turn you often have less support than you might think, just like with Mourinho.

Back to the point of the thread, I’m not too worried about this season, it’s not like we’ve had a catastrophic start and things can change rapidly if we hit some form, far too early to predict when we’ve still got players to come in. If we’re struggling towards Christmas then I’ll start questioning Warnock, if we’re around mid-table I’ll be hoping he can get some momentum, if we’re higher then it’s happy days!
