I may be wrong but from the images I'm sure the lad who 'done' Dael was wearing mouldies.
Do players actually wear screw-in studs these days?
I'm showing my age I know.
I would guess at the lack of TV gantry and press box.....Stupid question I'm sure and I know it's not going to happen, but is there anything stopping them playing home games at Rockliffe?
That's all I could think of. Easy enough to work around though, unless there's an expectation from the league that teams play in their home grounds. Looks better on TV or something?I would guess at the lack of TV gantry and press box.....

Segregated changing/shower facilities, perhaps? That's all I could think of. Easy enough to work around though, unless there's an expectation from the league that teams play in their home grounds. Looks better on TV or something?
Wilf- one of Boro's early nicknames was "The Scabs" because of the cuts and scrapes that players received due to the cinders that they played on.Ayresome was laid out on a bed of cinders, helped with the drainage, also we used Cumberland turf (the same as wembley).
Is the riverside pitch still the same dimensions as the 'new' wembley pitch ?

The Baseball Ground hardly had any grass on it by November. A swamp would have dry in comparison.Should make them play on Man Ure's pitch in the 60's and 70's. Now that was a bad pitch.
Saw Warnock say they are going to train on it so players can see what type of boots are best. Shouldn't this have been done before now if its a known problem and not just an excuse deflecting from how we have played at home.
Not noticed many opposition players slipping but thats not to say it hasn't happened.
Have they checked out which boots seem to slip most. Is it the awful salmon coloured boots or the banana yellow ones.
I think the pitches at Rockliffe are in even worse condition right now with the weather.
A lot of players nowadays tend to start with a pair of mouldies but send them away to have metal studs screwed in in certain places so they become a bit of a hybrid boot if you like.I may be wrong but from the images I'm sure the lad who 'done' Dael was wearing mouldies.
