Warnock staying next season

Very good news for us.
A couple of decent strikers and perhaps a keeper of similar standard to Randolph should really have us challenging the top 2. That is assuming we do not get promotion this season which I would prefer.

I'm probably a dot on the Venn Diagram of Boro fans but honestly not that bothered. Pleased that we have got something/someone in place for next season, as someone else said continuity is important. Just not convinced that he will lead us to the promised land. And there is the rub, if we want to go back to being an "established" PL side we need to have a long term plan. Something we have not had for a long time. If we get promoted next season, there is a very real danger that we will get relegated straight afterwards. What I'd like to see in that circumstance is us stick with the manager like Burnley did with Dyche and back that man (or perhaps woman 😉) to take us back up the following season. Warnock, at 72(?) is not that person

Ho hum.

Steady on.. your getting way ahead of yourself in terms of negativity there!

The season isn’t over for a start! Neil Warnock may well be the very man to get us into the prem THIS season!

If we do go up we won’t go up as an established PL side.. no team does. We can only plan on ifs and when’s.

I would have thought we would have a plan to go at the champo again next season and a plan for if we manage promotion.

I get what you are saying, but it is easier said than done. Any promoted club would be favorites to drop back down straight away, irrespective of the manager. To become established at Prem level - how does any mid-table Championship club do that with the financial constraints that are there?

I like the fact that Norwich stuck with their manager - that longer term thinking is in short supply in football.

I am personally very happy that Warnock is going to be here again. He has proven time and again that he can get a club promoted. *IF* we went up, then how we stay up is a difficult question - but its almost getting ahead of ourselves to worry too much about that at the moment. First step is keeping our manager who can get a club promoted - and that is now in place.

Buzzing with that! He's really having to 'make do' this season, but I'm hoping this news means that the chat with Gibbo was really positive, and he'll be able to have a proper go.

Getting this sorted so early will hopefully put us such a strong position. Fans like him, so hopefully it gives season tickets a boost. Players seem to like him, so hopefully it leads to players wanting to stay/sign for us. Would imagine he has his targets in mind now and we'll be getting an early jump on them.

Buzzing!
