Wales Back in Full Lockdown From Friday

Regardless of who picks up the tab (and it won’t be billionaires) you will never convince me that making millions of people un employed, thousands homeless, pushing 110 million people around the world into extreme poverty and saddling future generations that haven’t even been born yet with massive debt is acceptable, especially when it’s done through choice and isn’t inevitable. Don’t worry about this mug, I did quite well out the financial crash by buying and selling property and I’ll just do the same again.

Why weren't you worried about the millions around the world in poverty before Covid and people in the UK living in poverty with the reliance on foodbanks and ever increasing homelessness etc, poverty is a man made construct and doesn't need to exist.

This is not about, you, me or them it's about us or it should be.

I’m not in favour of any policies or restrictions that make people poorer and increases homelessness and use of food banks especially when its a choice and not inevitable and it won’t actually eliminate Covid. It’s debatable how effective a lockdown will be especially with a fatigued and non compliant population and students still in education where the data shows it’s spreading the most. It’s not debatable now much economic misery and suffering a lockdown will inflict on people, the unemployment data is there for all to see now. Lock downs and restrictions are a choice based on data from the spring when we knew nothing about the virus, knew how prevalent in society it was, had no testing, treatments, behaviour changes or who was most seriously affected. Every action has repercussions and those pushing for lockdowns and restrictions will have to hold their hands up and say they are equally responsible for the hardship they are going to inflict on people at the end of this.

In my view hardship only exists where/when it is allowed to happen, there won't be a need for it, yes we can pay higher taxes, the tax rate when I first started paying was 33% now down to 20%, we can pay more, corporate tax can also be increased for the multi nationals who pay very little and let's have a windfall tax on billionaire's and with people with more then 10 million, oh and don't forget the Brexit windfall (supposedly) lets make people and businesses with multi millions proud to do their bit alongside the working population to get us through what will hopefully be this relatively short period of time. One less foreign holiday or a smaller car, and usually after a slump comes a boom.

And like Bear said not for the government to squander it on their cronies.

People, their life and health are irreplaceable, health always first for me.

Did you vote Tory?

I did. I didn’t feel like I had a choice with the way people like yourself tried to disregard the referendum vote and delay/sabotage Brexit at every chance in the hope it would go away. Once again, actions have repercussions and the Remainers probably helped deliver the biggest Tory majority in a long time. For the record I have voted other ways in the past, not sure who I would vote for now (probably none of them) but I will never vote Labour.

Pretty sure I didn’t read a pledge to increase homelessness in the Tories manifesto, their decisions whilst in government may have sadly contributed but your irrational linking of Brexit to increasing homelessness just reveals your true agenda.

9% unemployment will turn more people to poverty and food banks than the Tories ever managed. Once again those advocating restrictions and lockdowns are themselves CHOOSING to inflict that on people, it’s not inevitable.

It just seems a bit hypocritical people going on about poverty and the use of food banks, how disgraceful it is etc, whilst simultaneously advocating and being in favour of actions and restrictions that will only inflict it on more people.

So your previous post was a lie, as the facts and figures were there for all to see. Tories policy equals increased poverty, increased homelessness, increased useage of food banks, poorer public services and increased wealth for the very few. Don't pretend you're so naive you don't understand that.

As will lockdowns and restrictions which you are in favour of?

The difference being I couldn’t predict what the Tories would do in government when I voted for them (sadly I lack the ability to predict the future like yourself...) whereas you have the benefit of knowing for a fact what hardship lockdowns and restrictions will enforce on people but you are still in favour of them?

And I’m supposed to be the terrible person?

You're trying to detract from the message and spin things - you voted Tory, and anyone who does so KNOWS what they stand for You lied, take ownership of that.

Would you believe it Monsieur Barnier now wants to discuss detailed legal texts. Still maintain there will be deal despite the doom mongers on here.

You always had a choice, you voted for this shower of sh*te of a government, you voted for these charlatans and grifters. You voted for a brexit that still 5 years after they started campaigning for it can't be described. You need to look further back to the brexit duplicity and inwardly to the veneer of analysis you gave the argument for why we are where we are today.

So you voted for a party which are know to be duplicitous, and are admitting you couldn't predict how they would behave. You also voted for a brexit policy based on nothing but trust and belief, which originated from the Tory ERG group and largely supported by Tory donors......you couldn't make it up:LOL:
