This is a very good point.We need to think about our reputation - not just for developing and improving players, but also “playing ball” when premier league bids do come in for players.

I'm a big fan of Rogers - I think he will develop into a very good player. I would have liked it to be with us, but when we can make a significant profit in a few months it makes total sense to cash in. If we are going to buy young players on their way up then we have to accept that we sell them when bigger clubs come calling. Other young players will see this and be more likely to move here as a stepping stone (see RVB).
I am a bit gutted by the timing as I think he was key to how we would play against Chelsea. We need to fit on the break and one of his strengths is getting us up the pitch quickly.
