Mahrez has just scored a fantastic goal and it was ruled out because in the build up it struck a city player on the arm who was on the ground
That part of Law 12 has already been changed in the 2020/21 edition of the laws - unfortunately we're still using the 2019/20 version which doesn't specify how long before the goal, the handling must occur for it to be disallowed.It's not VAR's fault. It's just a terrible rule. You can get rid of that rule and keep var, and I think they will. I think everyone agrees it is an awful rule so I can't see it sticking too long. It just doesn't make sense to rule goals out for something that isn't a handball.
