US Presidential Election 2020 Thread

How is it Latinos in Florida have voted Trump?
There's a large Cuban American and Venezuelan population in Florida for whom the term "socialism" isn't exactly positive. The problem for the Democrats is that since the rise of the Justice Democrats and the influence of Marxists groups like BLM, they're perceived as moving left.

At 11:30pm EST it's still anyone's race - though for those who thought Biden would win with a slam dunk it must be a surprise for Trump to be winning the popular vote at this point.

Am I right in reading (on Twitter) a lot of mail in votes aren’t going to be counted until tomorrow?

if so still hope for dems.

made the mistake of checking my phone when woken by my son crying, now wide awake and to intrigued by every ffs. Looks like a 4 hour sleep night for me now

That certainly seems to be the case in Pennsylvania. If PA and Arizona do flip to the Democrats, that would be huge.

Its interesting watching Democrats on the news talking about challenging results and dragging the count over a few days should Biden fail to win tonight. I was led to believe it would be Trump doing this. Strange.

Fingers crossed, I’m having the same sinking feeling I’ve had waking up after every election since 2016 (apart from 2017 when I had the small hope May would derail Brexit) waking up shell shocked at people’s stupidity.

These days I’m always cynical of polls, they always seem to be wrong ans overestimate the votes for left / centre left / centre candidates.

I just hope once all is said and done that Biden wins and that Trump is toast.

More conveniently placed piles of bricks appear in cities. Wasn’t it supposed to be trumps ‘militias’ kicking off tonight? Its antifa time!

Biden and his team seem confident, tweets coming from Biden and his campaign manager indicating that they believe they are on course to win.

In 2016 Trump was seen as the “disrupter”. Wind forward 4 years and it seems he is the divider.

He has just been declared as holding on to Ohio according to CNN

Very depressing but it looks like we have this chunt for another 4 years.

All comes down to Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan. Always would. Looks more nervy than predicted...but all 3, Biden home and hosed. May just need 2

Narrow outcome, delays in a result, a president who has already declared he has won. This is developing into everything we feared. Tempers will rise, social media will explode and its not a country I’d want to be in right now.

Yeah it has the potential to get very ugly.

Have I just heard this right, in Georgia the counters have gone home and will start counting again later???
