Unusual or Different Pub Names......

I always liked the name "The Antigallican" when we were away to Charlton.
The name comes from anti French groups who met there during the Napoleonic wars. I thought it was a unique name but later found out there were a couple of them in London.
Think it's shut down now.

My favourite in Exeter which shut down @2018 was The Sorry Head and that was on Blackboy Road ( Google the debate around the street name).

I used to live near one called The Vulcan, not far from from an old forge. Not seen another one called that, but there is one in Wales too, according to Google.

There certainly is. It opened today in St Fagan's National Museum, the Welsh version of Beamish.

"The Crooked Billet" London Colney

There are a few pubs called the Crooked Billet in the south.

There was a very big one on th North Circular in Walthamstow, when I lived down there 50 years ago, but its been knocked down now and is only remembered in the name of the roundabout that took its place.

One on Wimbledon Common too.
