Unbelievable Season so far….

Regardless of what happens for the rest of the season… it’s the most inspiring we’ve had in a long time… Carrick-inflated leather casey Mitre Delta Premier League spherical philosophy, Chuba on fire, loans come good, Howson in the engine room, the emergence of Hackney, developmental players looking like seasoned pros, the return of Fry, and say what you like about Steffen, we could always get Lumley back in net, actually winning games, our March up the table, a push for automatics and with the season almost done sitting 4th six points clear in the playoff positions…. Would love promotion… but what ever happens this has been a great Season… at least from when Carrick arrived! Up the F***ing Boro!!!!

Agree with a lot of that. Which is why we need to capitalize this year. It would be so difficult for all the pieces of the jigsaw falling into place next year. We will lose so many good loan players, others will be entering the final year of their contract and it might be difficult to hang on to Akpom at the end of this season should we not go up.

If we don't go up, anyone who wants to file this season as a failure akin to the Pulis years needs to take up a different sport.

I take your point and agree that this season has largely been a success based on the recent past. However, if we reach the play-offs and do not go up, we will have failed in achieving our aim, or one of them, that does not mean the season has not been positive and enjoyable to witness though. I genuinely do think it is possible to have both a successful season yet still have failed.

With hindsight, we should have started the season with a new manager in place. Our season started 10 games in. Wilders head wasn't with us and the players definitely weren't with him.

74 goals after 41 games - what was the last Boro team to beat that?

Big Jack's had 73 after 41 games in 1973/4.

A miss is as good as a mile.
If we don't go up this season just file it with the other post Karanka failures.
Have enjoyed the football though.
I agree with that.

This season will be consigned to history, and some will remember it for some good football played, but the record books will show Boro finished 4th or whatever, that's all.

I wonder if Huddersfield fans remember last season fondly - it must have seemed as though they'd be promoted with a shoo in after an unlucky play off loss last season - but it didn't work out like that.

Too many people only looking at the destination when it's the journey that's the best bit in football, so if we fail to go up it's still been a great season with some great memories/performances and enjoyment, and that's what stays with you (y)
There's always next season (y)
Exactly.

It's the worst feeling being a football fan not having anything to play for at this time of the year.

Oh well thanks for letting us all know. I was going to go to the rest of the games this season, I might not bother now you've told us we're definitely going to fail.🙄
