Unacceptible "Paedo" and offensive chants / behaviour at MFC / SAFC Game

I've always hated these chants. I think they're absolutely disgusting. If it was 20 or 30 of them I'd turn a blind eye to it but this was their whole away end and probably as loud as it's ever been.

The point today though where I thought enough is enough was when the kids football team walked past them and they were singing it. Absolute cowards the lot of them.

I think that education is the only way forward.

We can only live in hope that we can educate the more senior members of society but we can certainly educate our youth.
All clubs when sending players to local schools should always bring up this subject and point out how vile and unacceptable this
sort of behaviour is.
They should inform the kids that there is not a player on this planet that would be proud to represent a club whose fans bring
shame on the club, area and the players themselves and remind them that the entire world is watching their behaviour.

The thing is that there is probably a large proportion of their supporters there today that live or work on Teesside. They walk amongst us 🧟‍♂️
I'd like to see some video footage of their supporters cheerily singing "Sh*g your children" in celebration of their equaliser, just so we could pick out our workmates and neighbours and confront them about their true feelings.

Let's deal with our own neanderthals before we start whining about away fans at the Riverside. Threads like this make us look stupid. Homophobic chanting vs Chelsea. Adam Johnson (kiddy fiddling) chanting today. Booing taking the knee. Let's get our own house in order first!
It's interesting that this thread was about the Sunderland chants, rather than all of the unacceptable chanting we all heard today.

It's a fine line to be tread when calling this out, because it's very easy to fall into the trap of being, or at least appearing to be, partisan.

Come on you can’t compare the Johnson chants to what they’re singing - Johnson is one person, not the whole population of Middlesbrough, which is what they’re singing about, and Johnson is a convicted sex offender, most of the people of Middlesbrough aren’t. Of course Boro fans shouldn’t be singing it but Sunderland have been hurling these chants at us since the 80’s, it’s only since the Adam Johnson revelations came to light that some Boro fans have retaliated with similar nonsense “songs” - if someone keeps punching you you’re probably going to retaliate eventually. It’s all pretty embarrassing behaviour from both sets of fans but it all steams from the mackems starting it in the first place

Not really sure how they can sing it when one of their own and the highest ever profile premier league nonce case surrounded, yes a mackem footballer! Surely that puts it to bed no?!

There is another way
We get a group of fans (RF, others) together and agree an MFC fans charter.
We make the consequences clear

We then ask the club, stewards and away clubs help us identify those who don’t comply.

We also help - challenge and identify.

We’ve got Bristol City at home next. The Mackems will quickly be forgotten.

Their chanting is classless and clueless but perhaps they do it knowing it gets a reaction. It didn’t bother me and I didn’t take it personally. It reflects more on their moronic mentality, than anything else.

It needs officially reporting, and it needs calling out.

It's happened at every match against them and it's disgusting.

Quite happy for our own idiotic fans to be reported when they chant disgusting things too, it's not an either or situation.

Hardly that bad?

Thousands of Sunderland fans singing that we shag our children isn't that bad?

It's awful.
Don't think its that deep, just football fans singing daft stuff. Just shrug your shoulders and move on.
There are bigger issues within football fan culture and chanting to worry about than this. Boro fans openly singing homophobic chants about rent boys for example.
