Ukraine - invasion underway

NATO-member Turkey said one of its ships was hit by a 'bomb' near Odessa - underlining fears that the alliance could easily get sucked into the conflict and spark all-out war in Europe

At least we have a lot of face masks - just not the correct ones......
 
The west hast to bite the bullet and basically destroy the Russian economy starting now. It'll hurt us as far as energy supply and other natural resources goes, but it'll force a destabilising effect with his own people that will test his rule far more than sabre rattling will.

The only good thing is technically we're going towards warm weather - at least it's not September / October and this is kicking off

It has been suggested that Turkey will sit on the fence. This should help them decide.

It will impact industry as well as the general public of course, but if what the young lady on the BBC this afternoon said was true then we'd be far more likely to ride it out than Russia. If we freeze the Russian banks global assets and stop them being able to do any international transactions then it'll cause a run on their banking system and deplete their reserves very quickly.
 
Apparently Chinese jets are in Taiwanese airspace. Not sure if that’s a regular occurrence or they’re showing some sort of show of force on today of all days.

I know what you mean but the war is real for the people of Ukraine and we wouldn't be wanting to spread stuff that was filmed 2 years ago in another conflict as part of some Russian SM campaign.

And TBH isn't it a bit like war porn? Some people might not want to see it and it's kind of hard not to with embedded twitter posts.

Its very concerning, but if we send people there we will be called an aggressor. United Nations need to show their teeth, these situations are why it exists.

Believe that is a regular occurrence recently. But perhaps they're taking advantage of the situation.

China is already well in place in US institutions so I doubt they'd risk outright invasion that would force a response. I understand most US defence companies get their chips from Taiwan. So Taiwan is not an insignificant player.

Some prominent journos on Twitter are trying to verify the videos. I'd say a good starting point might be only to share things from verified accounts?

Anyway, no biggie to me, just thought people wouldn't be wanting to share fake vids. As I previously posted, I'm not criticising anyone in particular and for me keep posting them (y)
