UK exports to European Union drop 40% in January

I saw this tweet from an EU citizen the other day.

'In march 2021 in Belarus you can fill a truck with anything, pay €180 for TIR/CTC , define destination as UK and will transit EU countries. What is in the truck is not our problem, it is a GB problem, the place without checks, controls border officials.'
I'd laugh my nuts off if it was found that containers full of immigrants have been entering the UK, as we have nobody to carry out the checks, due to leaving the EU. It's a gammons worst nightmare :ROFLMAO:

Not really a laughung matter Andy.

And yet, despite the avalanche of evidence filling the news day by day, there remains a huge number of leave voters that continue with the delusion.

It was a failure to employ critical thinking skills that led them to vote Leave in the first place, I don’t suppose they come back quickly. In fact, human nature being what it is, it will be actively working to impede this behind the scenes as it were.

It's not, not the reason why they're coming here or the economic loss we suffer by not having immigration. I don't mind these people coming here, I'd just let them in the safe front door providing they were EU citizens and coming to work, and they were going to be a net benefit, which EU immigrants are massively proven to be.

The thing I'm laughing at is idiots voting for something they have zero clue about, despite being told by experts that these massive problems would happen, they then had the arrogance to dismiss it as "project fear", that's what I'm laughing at. Also the massive irony of voting to try and stop one thing (we all know what that one thing was), then the trade/ border clusterfuck meaning that one thing can't even be stopped due to our own incompetence and lack of preparation. That's what I'm laughing at. People voted for tighter borders which will only cripple us, and then put their unwaivered faith in the UK and the government to deliver it like we're still no 1, waiving their little England flags. The ones that waive union flags are even worse, they might as well be burning them, it's closer to the truth.

This is the thing that confuses, depresses, and angers me in equivalent measure. When there is over overwhelming evidence that something is a mistake. Instead of doing the right thing and admitting their mistake, some people have actually doubled down and are spending increasingly desperate lengths to try and justify it. It’s so sad that the country is being ran aground by these people

confused depressed and angry ?

That was a disgrace that there looks like no risk assessment carried out on the final deal. But an assessment was carried out on the Albania deal though at 1/15000th of the value.
I think the risk assessment of Emily not getting elected to Parliament was carried out. Result None.

You just have to look at the pathetic, vacuous responses to know that’s all they have: denial.

Reminds me a lot of people playing roulette, doubling up after each loss, oblivious to the probability and who is actually paying for these massive casinos.

Pathetic and vacuous or right. It’s bizarre what they think is a deflection these days. They’ll say any unrelated comment to distract from the nightmare their unicorn has become. I genuinely can’t understand people just blindly ignoring reality

I read that exports were actually down by closer to 70% in the first 2 months of the year, imports were effected slightly less at about 35% down due to our wave em through policy.

On the subject of Adi and ST's responses, give it a rest fella's. Frankly it's boring.
