75mins on the clock and Croatia find a way to take the lead after a decent start by the Dutch. Modric has again defied the years by winning a pen and then fellow veteran Perisic provides the pass for the second goal.
 
Dutch threw everything at Croats in the final 10 mins and got their reward on the 6th minute of injury time.

2-2 FT — Extras coming up
 
2-3 (Petkovic) smashes one in from 20 yards. Up and coming striker who hasn’t figured too much admittedly but that goal he scored to give the Croats the lead is certain to give him some media attention.

All or nothing for the Dutch but I’d have to say the Croats have been too technical for the Dutch especially in midfield. Dutch have perhaps relied on their height rather than their passing abilities.
 
How on earth Modric hasn’t won Ballon D’or is an absolute travesty of justice. He’s 37, played over 50 games this past season not to mention all the games he’s played for his country. Absolute legend on the pitch.
 
I think that’s it for Ronnie Koeman, second time around at the national level for the Dutch. He hasn’t changed much with his tactics, just like a cheese sandwich.
 
Remember when people slated Southgate for failing to beat this superb Croatia team n a World Cup semi. With players like Lingard, Alli, Rose and Dier!

It’s amazing that Modric is still going, absolute top top class player. He could play until he’s 50, never seems to stop
