So Warren is claiming Fury's next fight is all but done and due to be announced in coming days. Let's just assume that he is telling the truth for once. Any prediction on an opponent?

With Usyk, Dubois, AJ, Whyte, Joyce and Zhang all looking to face each other it doesn't leave a lot of names left at the top of the heavyweight division.

WBC haven't appointed a mandatory challenger (this is half the problem with Fury, he's essentially getting a free ride as champion), so he's theoretically free to face anyone he wants.

Wilder 4 or Ruiz are possibilities or potentially Sanchez seems to be angling towards mandatory status to fight Fury. Or alternatively he could look towards a low risk, high earning exhibition fight with either Ngannou or Jon Jones.

This is a huge fight for Fury. Anyine other than a Usyk, AJ or Zhang is nothing more than an exhibition bout and folks will tune out.

You have no doubt that usyk wanted the fight but he didn't accept the fight? They both wanted the fight in my opinion its the promoters who don't.

Every time usyk agreed ( to Tyson’s unfair demands) Tyson moved the goalposts - he didn’t want it.

Wouldn't be surprised if Fury v Francis Ngannou is announced. He's pulled out of negotiations to face Usyk in Dec/Jan in Saudi Arabia. If you think about it, he's going to get criticised if he fights any other boxer and for avoiding Usyk again. So he's obviously going to try and get around that, fighting Ngannou will help him do that with the non-boxing/entertainment market.

He's mouthing off on instagram saying there's no mandatory in place so he's free to fight who he wants. I'm unsure of the exact rule but I thought if there was no mandatory in place you still need to make a defence but it would be a voluntary defence i.e. get to choose your opponent. And for it to be sanctioned as a defence I believe they need to be ranked in the top 15. Chisora got put into 15th in the WBC rankings just before their fight in December so it could be sanctioned as a defence. He was not there a few months earlier. It stinks of corruption.

The fight is laughable, exhibitions are no place for current champions, it's all good and well Mayweather doing a few but that's cause he’s done and retired.

Fury is just making a mockery of the title and the sport and in effect trying to make boxing more WWE or Rocky, I'm not sure which.

The build up trying to make this a credible fight is going to be pathetic and Fury will boast about how much money he’s getting because that's all he is, a money grabbing fraud. He's the best heavyweight of the modern era but he's completely ruined his legacy.

Ironically, it would have done less damage to his legacy had he fought the likes of AJ and Usyk and lost, as at least then he could back up his claim of being a "a fighting man".

Fury is an idiot, and in no way shape or form can he be called the best of his generation. He hasn't the heart or desire to fight other dangerous opponents.

His legacy will be a shameful one of a man of his talent, but it was be entirely self inflicted.

He's almost single handedly destroyed the HW division and the governing bodies should be stripping him of his titles.
