Tyson Fury - Fight to be Announced

So Warren is claiming Fury's next fight is all but done and due to be announced in coming days. Let's just assume that he is telling the truth for once. Any prediction on an opponent?

With Usyk, Dubois, AJ, Whyte, Joyce and Zhang all looking to face each other it doesn't leave a lot of names left at the top of the heavyweight division.

WBC haven't appointed a mandatory challenger (this is half the problem with Fury, he's essentially getting a free ride as champion), so he's theoretically free to face anyone he wants.

Wilder 4 or Ruiz are possibilities or potentially Sanchez seems to be angling towards mandatory status to fight Fury. Or alternatively he could look towards a low risk, high earning exhibition fight with either Ngannou or Jon Jones.
I suspect you nailed it with your last sentence

No interest in this fraud anymore, I like boxers who go out and box from time to time
It's all about money, they are all to blame not just fury. He gets the majority of the stick because he's the champ and shouts he's mouth off, but let's face it he's better than them all, nobody is scared to fight each other. They are holding out for the Saudis to host this tournament at the end of the year.
Agree its ruining heavyweight boxing but no one fighter is to blame.
Just too easy to blame the loud mouth who spouts aload of b***ks.

It's not just the fact he spouts off, the others are still staying active and making fights. They've all got fights lined up in the next couple of months

In the last 15 months Fury has fought Chisora. That is it. And tried to sell it as a tune up fight which was clearly a con.

Fury is a time water, in boxing you have a limited shelf life, I’m sure Usyk was thrilled fury wasted 6 months of his time chasing the undisputed fight. Similar last year with Joshua when fury knew he had a contract situation with wilder, complete time waster.

“Game changing” fight to be announced, probably a 4 rounder against Dennis Rodman

What main heavyweights are staying active?

Joshua and Joyce have both fought earlier this year and looking to fight again in the summer/autumn. Twice a year is standard at the top level across all divisions.

Usyk hasn't fought for 10 months because he spent 4 months negotiating with the clown that is Tyson Fury while in camp. Due to fight Dubois in a couple of months.

Fury gets the stick because he's the common denominator in fights falling through. He's defended his world titles twice in 8 years but calls himself the lineal champ. He talks the most crap on social media and contradicts himself on a daily basis.

Joshua fought Franklin who had just most to whyte and joyce lost to a 40 year old. Usyk fighting a man who lost to joyce.
Come on man your just writing your own narrative cause you don't like fury.
The whole heavyweight division is as bad as each other, like i said its easy to blame the loud mouth cause it fits the narrative.
Reality though there's alot more goes on that we know.

The question was who has stayed active.... and I answered it.

If you want to talk about quality of opponents then that's a different argument but I'm happy to have it.

AJ came off the back of two brutal losses. It made sense to step down a couple of levels for his next fight. You would then expect him to work his way up from there again. Whyte would fit that bill. He would have been stupid to.jump straight into another elite fight. Anyone with Aby boxing knowledge knows that.

Joyce fighting Zhang was also a step up for him from Parker. A current top 10 heavyweight. There wasn't a better fight out there for him. I'm sure he would have loved his mandatory fight Usyk but he was negotiating with Fury at the time and he's also behind Dubois in the waiting list. Who else do you want him to fight that would make sense from a ranking perspective and business perspective? And by the way, I think Zhang is better than he gets credit for because he's from the wrong continent. He beat Hrgovic but didn't get the decision and the way he peppered Joyce shows he has at the very least in the top 8 in the world if not top 5.

Fury has fought once in the last 15 months. Derek Chisora!! The man who had to be bumped up into the top 15 by the corrupt WBC 2 months before the fight just so it could be classed as a defence.

I'm writing no narrative. These are facts. He's an undefeated World Champion. There's absolutely no reason why he shouldn't be making these top fights other than greed or protecting his record.

In years to come people will cross reference boxing records, and actually laugh at Tyson fury’s, his resume is 3 fights against wilder and a 40+ year old klitchko. The rest of it really is waffle

Usyk has fought 3 times in 3 years, joshua 4 and fury 4.
There's levels in boxing unfortunately and these 3 are the best end of story, so please tell me again who's been active.
I do agree fury needs to fight these 2 asap but let's no pretend it's all one way traffic, you don't know what goes on in boxing clearly , you still read what you want. That's the narrative you choose.

When your going back 3 years, your going back into covid times. I have no doubt that Usyk wanted that fight with Fury early this year. Fury didn't. It was entirely predictable.

I'm not sure what your point is here? I've never said anything different. I would actually argue AJ isn't at the same level as the other two but just because these 3 are probably better than all the others, it doesn't mean they can only fight each other exclusively. It doesn't work like that. Usyk has mandatories, its out of his hands if he wants to keep his belts. AJ is coming off the back of two losses. It makes sense like I said in my last post.

He's missed his chance with Usyk. And AJ isn't ready yet. But he needs to get in the ring with someone worthwhile. Joyce is lined up for the Zhang rematch. Ruiz maybe?

Warren is now spouting off that there's no-one available. The same spiel he was rolling out back end of last year when he was adamant Fury was fighting in December. When it was also convenient that no one was available. He's had plenty of chances to make a fight before these guys got otherwise engaged, but no. He sat on his hands. Same story.

Makes you slight at the 24 he ultimatums Tyson was giving out when aj called his bluff. Tyson literally hasn’t fought for ages - I think to a man everyone is seeing that Tyson is the issue here!

Its unbelievable that people still attempt to defend him.

You have no doubt that usyk wanted the fight but he didn't accept the fight? They both wanted the fight in my opinion its the promoters who don't.

He'd agreed his terms in Saudi and Fury wouldn't. Then got continuously messed about off Warren/Fury with moving goal pots when they tried to move it to Wembley.
Everytime it got close Fury moved the goalposts. To expect to fight for 70/30 and no rematch clause is a joke. At least with the hr would have benefitted inancially in the second fight if he won which he clearly backed himself to win.

Usyk was in a camp away from family. Fury was doing nothing to prepare. It was clear who wanted it and who didn't.

Which promoters are you talking about? Because Krassyuk seems a genuine bloke and everyone who has dealt with him previously has the best things to say. Usyk doesn't seem financially motivated. Undisputed was more important to him.

Warren is a pratt but he doesn't make anything if Fury's not in the ring. I just don't think anyone can get any sense out of Fury. The man changes his mind about what he wants on a daily basis. He must be a nightmare for everyone involved. The quicker he vacates and fuks off to fight MMA fighters for daft money the better. He'll be happy. His followers who defend him no matter what will be happy. And the boxing fans will be happy that a bit of normality can be resumed and Championship fights can be made again. It'll be disappointing that we never got to see the big fights but at least we won't have to listen to that gobshite anymore
