He might not.

But at this moment in time, Barlaser deserves to continue playing.

When O'Brien is back, it will be interesting to see how Carrick fits him in, because IMO, he's one of our better players.

Barlaser has all the attributes needed to be good enough for us at this level as first choice along side Hackney. The shirt is his to lose given the way he’s played over the last few games.

Nonsense. Why on Earth would you think Lenihan walks straight back into the team after we’ve had 3 in 4 clean sheets without him? McNair 100% has the shirt to lose.

Well the old phrase, if it's not broke then don't fix it. I would leave Barlaser in for now but I think there'll be games he'll struggle. He probably is our best option at the moment.
He's good in games we are dominating. He's not going to impose himself in games we are struggling. Cardiff allowed us all the time we wanted on the ball last week and then he played well once Sunderland went down to 10 men. He was very good in that second half.

It depends what you look for in a Centre Midfielder. I don't agree he has all the attributes. He has some of the attributes.
He's neat and tidy in possession but he's fairly negative. A lot of sideways and backwards passing. You are right what you say where that can compliment Hackney as Hackney can be the driving force forward but wouldn't it be nice to have two players in midfield who can drive us forward.

He offers very little out of possession. He doesn't hit tackles, he doesn't get in opponents faces. He has no physical presence. Ideally we would want out second midfielder doing that alongside Hackney. O'Brien would offer this I think.

I think he does a job in matches where we are dominating possession. He helps us recycle the ball and keeps it moving. He's far from a complete midfielder though.

No we dominate possession because of Barlaser and Hackney as a partnership

Barlaser is very progressive with his passing and can pick a player out easily. Hes technically excellent my only criticism of him is he isnt blessed with great pace but with Hackneys growing dynamism i dont see that as a huge problem. Without seeing much of O’Brien in the central role Barlaser and Hackney are the best pairing we have.

To be confirmed. I don't think so but happy to be proven wrong.
We dominated possession against Cardiff because of the way they set up. They sat back and defended the final 3rd.
We didn't dominate possession against Sunderland until they went down to 10 men.

I think Barlaser will get a few more games so we will see.

I would say you don't know what you're talking about.
Point me in the direction of the mistakes McNair has made in sny of the last 4 wins he's played that have lead to either a goal or even a chance?
