Traore Article

I think he needs to move for his own sake, he's struggled for a while now.

I'm not sure it's fair to blame it all on Jimenez being injured either, that points more to Traore's limitations than anything else for me.

I'd have him back here in a heart beat, but there will still be plenty of top flight interest in him.
If not here, then back in Spain.

Its a weird one, because every time I watch him play he looks really dangerous and Wolves most creative player.

maybe the team sacrifices something defensively with him on the pitch and I know their current manager is very defensively minded, but I still can't understand why he doesn't feature every week.

All Boro fans know that it was Pulis' micro management of Traore that made such a difference - even swapping wings in the 2nd half so that he could ball into his ear.
I get the feeling nuno santo did the same thing and, for a while, he was looking like he might go all the way to the very top.
It has always been said that it is his understanding of tactics and positioning seemed to let him down and its sounds as though that is still very much the case.

Could end up at Newcastle?
That would be perfect. They would get so excited but, ultimately, it wouldnt end in goals and they would still go down.
They need proven premier players if they are serious about staying up. the rumours about trippier seem more sensible - not massive names but good, experienced prem players - if not, down they go.

I read that article this morning. It seems like Traore hasn't progressed through his career in the way that he would have hoped. Maybe, he just doesn't get the game and without that he will always fall short, regardless of how fast or strong he is.

He excites and frustrates in equal measure mostly.

It was nothing to do with micromanagement. Karanka even said himself that he shouldn't have been swapping his wings and just let him play. All pulis did was pick him, stick him on the wing and tell him to run at defenders and then cross the ball.

He needs to be at the top end of the pitch. not in midfield, not wingback in a 343. he needs to be advanced, wide and paired with a powerful CF who can bully to be first to the ball.

He's great at what he does, and poor at trying to do anything outside of that comfort area and I doubt that will ever change.

I always maintain he's a throwback footballer. A man out of time. Its why he did so well for pulis.
He isn't a tikitaki or gegenpress footballer. He's a chalk on your boots winger from the 90s. Could have replaced Ripley at Blackburn or kanchelskis at utd or ginola at Newcastle, and he would be considered the star of the league.

I'd love to see someone build a team around him but it won't happen. It's a crime against football that a space can't be found for talents of the likes of him.

I suspect I’ll upset some people but he’s not a great footballer. Great athlete/ sprinter and good close control but when he doesn’t have the ball he’s poor. I really like the guy and hoped that he’d improve with good coaching but he hasn’t. I don’t know why. Just my opinion.

I agree, I never thought he was a great footballer either. Lightening quick and great dribbling skills but no football brain or end product. He’d have more success if he dribbled it over the goal line rather than attempting to shoot.
