Transfers......or lack of.

I sort of want us to go with Roberts in goal. Do we really need the Man City lad?
I think so. Think he will be best keeper we have in years. More than willing to give Roberts a go if I am proved wrong though but yeah, Steffen all day for me.

I saw something in a Gazette link this morning where Wilder said he expected some incomings this week, as he hopes to have them out in Portugal next week.

“Obviously the squad isn't as complete as we want it to be. We're impatient with that, but we understand it. I'm not going to be the only manager saying that. We all say the same things and we all want our players in and working away. But knowing what the situation is like and the players that we're after, it's a sort of domino effect on a lot of other things as well.

"We’ve just got to be patient. I am, the club are and most importantly, the supporters need to be. We are closing in on a few deals. We could sit here for the next two hours and go through a list of 250 names. Some will be close, some will be way off and others will be linked by agents and others will be genuine.

There is potential for us to get one or two out here," Wilder continued. "The logistics of it aren’t great because we have to go through medicals and stuff like that. But we’ve had a chat with the senior boys about it, obviously there are a lot of young boys out here with us at the moment. Right now, as we spoke about after York City, the squad’s currently being supplemented by the young boys.

"I’m sure by next week the squad will have a different look to it. We understand that from a numbers point of view, there are issues. But I can assure you that everyone at the football club, from the very top and Steve, to myself, are working really hard to make that happen.”

I'm guessing this will be the goalkeeper as the jungle drums seem to be suggesting that we were only a work permit away from confirming the deal. Hopefully the other will be one of the forwards.

Yup, the forwards are the big one.

I'm not that concerned about the keeper, the new lad Roberts had rave reviews from Northampton, getting supporters POTY and players POTY, must be doing something right to sweep up both.
Obviously lower level in League 2, but I suppose there's a bit less to it as a keeper, stopping a ball is stopping a ball I suppose

Kicking a ball is kicking a ball and Kavanagh and Coburn should be able to do the same job as Gyokeres and Muniz then? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I'd be happy starting with this goalie though for the reasons you say, he obviously isn't a clown (Cue opening day fumble)

Just a 2hr 30m flight from Paris to the Algarve🤞

250 players coming in! I would be concerned on FFP with that many new signings. At least we will have plenty of squad depth and the players will be rested, with the new 5 sub rule we need decent strength in depth. 😁

Haha, nope. Obviously there's a bit more to it for forwards, i.e if they stand in the wrong place, or are too slow to get to the right place then what they can do with the ball is irrelevant, as they will never get it. This is why I don't mind strikers who miss chances, providing they're still getting in the right place enough to score the ones they don't miss.

I think he's aiming to take up the top 10 spots, with 25 man squads.

I'd love it if they posted that 250 name list mind

Probably the most boring transfer window ever. Linked to naff all. Nothing happening. Spent zero . Same old
