Transfers are not soap operas

Just looking through some of the posts today it's amazing how dramatic the circumstances of these transfers are being portrayed.
Webs of secrecy, subversion, lies, double dealing, forcing moves and who knows what else seem to be the norm.
In actuality, it's just clubs selling and buying players to try and balance the finances and the chances of success and players and agents trying to do their best for themselves.
I know this place would be a lot quieter if everyone thought like me, but some really need to dial back the drama and not treat players leaving like being jilted by a childhood sweetheart 😁😉😍🥲😱🤯💔

Reading into this dood I am beginning to think that you didn't have a Tavernier duvet set with matching curtains in your boudoir. :)

(I totally agree with your sentiments, some folk really do like a wee bit of drama)

Is exciting because at this stage they haven't had the chance to be utterly lacklustre for us. This is as good as they ever are...

I hope we never release John Hickton. Erimus74 will need a new duvet!
Or he'll end up with a new tent by accident 😁

Maybe my op was a tad hard on some, but I do blame SSN and the likes for making the transfer window into a televisual extravaganza and elevating Saido Berahino moving to Stoke into some sort of earth-shattering event.

I just preferred the days when you phoned clubcall (£1 a min) or ceefax to find out you'd signed someone.

No rumors or buzz. I remember being round my mates one day and we'd signed Mustoe and Hendrie in one day. I found out on ceefax 😂

I must admit I said 'who the f*ck is Robbie Mustoe?'. What do I know lol

Dont think youre alone there, it would be hard to find one fan think, wow we've just signed Robbie Mustoe, I remember phoning Boro calline, or whatever is was called back in 1990, but what a player he turned out to be, whoever seen him play will have Robbie in their top team of players, he was that good

I'm pretty sure Hendrie found out he was being transfered via a 'post it' note left by his wife on the kitchen table.

Imagine that now 😂

My memory might be failing me a bit, but I recall being at Boundary Park to witness us get humped yet again in the Oldham rain and we were all praying that our signing of Paul Sugre would turn our fortunes around. Back in those days there was still an element of mystery to a player.

Was that the new years day one. Lots of miserable, hungover, very wet Boro fans on the open terrace behind the goal. Trying to smash the yellow bulbs on the big scoreboard with 2p coins, because Leeds had done it the week before and it relieved boredom (apparently).
