Tottenham Players Refund Travelling Fans After Newcastle Defeat

Spurs are a basket case.

They're lucky Chelsea are around, otherwise, Spurs would be the laughing stock of the league.

Interesting one. This says to me that the players can't have felt they put the effort in vs Newcastle, because it they did but just got beaten by a team who were much better than them on the day then they shouldn't be expected to refund travelling fans.

Ridiculous. Sometimes you win, lose or draw. Sometimes your team is ****, sometimes your team is brilliant. I've seen some shockers over the years but never demanded or expected a refund. If you can't hack the bad times then don't bother being a football fan.

Don't agree with that at all, tbh.

It was a horrific performance, but it's part of the game.

Thing is if your team puts in a good effort and on the day is beaten by the better team then fair play congratulate the opposition, but if your team gets embarrassed and you didn’t put much effort in then that’s a different kettle of fish.

Fans pay good money to go and see their team. They expect them to perform, not just turn up. After all, fans pay their wages.
If that was the case we would have got in 80% of games for free over the last few years.

Win or loose it’s all part of the game, I wouldn’t ever expect to be refunded

I wouldn’t if we lost say 2-1 but if your team gets embarrassed like Spurs did on Sunday that’s different.

Sunderland have done it in the past and so have Southampton.

We conceded 4 in 20 minutes against Huddersfield, a team who were in the relegation zone of the second tier.

They conceded 5 in 20 minutes against the richest club in the world, a team in the top 4 of the best league in the world.

Did that 5th goal trigger the refund clause?

At no point did I think I was owed a refund during or after the Huddersfield collapse.

I must be owed hundreds of thousands for the dross and lack of effort I’ve had to put up with over the years.

Is there a www.claimyourfootballticketandtravelcostfromvariousmercenaryshysterssuchasgastonramirezfabrizioravanelliandrudigestede.com?

30% of your claim the standard rate isn’t it, could be the next PPI or diesel car bonanza.
But I bet the club were not embarrassed by losing 5,6,7,8-0 etc…

I’m fine getting humped if the players gave 100% and the opposition were just better, no problem. If the players don’t give 100% and their performance is an embarrassment to the club then not acceptable.

Do fans really "pay their wages" anyway ?

If you look at where footballers wages are coming from, it's not really Dave from Enfield who is travelling to Newcastle away even with his season ticket, sky subscription and shirt purchase.

Unless you are lucky enough to support Man City, it’s something every fan has to deal with at some stage. It’s just football.

Getting £40 for the ticket won’t change a thing

You’re missing my point. I’ve no problem seeing the Boro getting beat if the players gave 100% and were beaten by a better team on the day but if we got hammered and the players gave up and put in a performance that was an embarrassment to the club then not acceptable.
