Tory deputy chief whip resigns after ‘embarrassing myself and others’

Calm down boys and girls. A minister has just said Johnson didn't remember he'd been told about @rse Pincher but he has now remembered. So move along. Nothing to see here!
Probably gets told of numerous scandals involving his MPs on a daily basis. Can't expect him to possibly keep track of them.

A brief timeline of Boris Johnson's memory of Pincher allegations:

I knew nothing of any allegations.

I knew of something but it was vague.

I knew of something, but it was unsubstantiated.

I knew of an allegation, but it wasn't specific.

I knew of a specific allegation, but it wasn't serious.

I knew of a specific serious allegation, but I forgot about it.

Now after a few days, I remember it wasn't serious anyway, just deeply uncomfortable and he said sorry after admitting it so everything is ok.

We say this pretty much every fortnight
yeah I know but it just feels like it could be something that initially does not seem like the worse they have done but kind of turns nasty on him i.e. Simon McDonalds statement today really sticking the boot in

They let the cameras in todays cabinet meeting, big mistake

All just sat there thinking ‘****. I’m going to have to get off the gravy train soon, aren’t I? I should have stolen more while I had the chance.’

If there is any justice in the world, every single one of them would be cast out of politics for good, and half of them should possibly end up behind bars.

Most of us have probably been in meetings where things within your company are going to sh*t, financial/ industry problems are going to cause huge issues, things bleak. So you're thinking about updating your CV, giving a few agents a ring.......but this lot?
Whatever happens they will walk out of the car crash that is the cabinet not giving one solitary f*ck - not one. And get a plum job "somewhere" in a few weeks on a few hundred grand a year, no repercussions, no problems. Not in the real world .......yet they are the ones who decide the policies that have a long lasting effect on our lives.
Sh*thouses the lot of them.

Yep, it’s completely soul destroying.
You’d think somebody, anybody in there would have found some minuscule thread of morals, principles, ethics deep deep down in their dark souls, or perhaps even just thought of their family, and stood up by now and said ‘Sod this shiiiiiiiit. I can’t do it anymore. I’m out.’

They are all completely devoid of any redeeming qualities now.
They’ve all gone along with the lies, the deceit, the criminality, corruption and chaos and each and every one of them has done the media rounds day after day, laughing at us all, and knowingly lying on behalf of Johnson, just to keep their job. They must be held accountable by their constituents and the public in general, and never forgiven or forgotten.

You are completely right though, the majority will walk into high power jobs and multiple non-exec directorships, taking home a fortune, regardless of how they are remembered politically. It’s hard to accept.

🎯 Spot on sadly.

My bet is GB News, some of the current backbenchers have already lined up their future jobs on that channel.

How many normal people could deal with this amount of pressure and scandal that Johnson is dealing with, you'd think at some point you'd just think that I can't handle this anymore.

Also how many MP's would refuse to resign after the amount of sleeze and scandal that Johnson has been involved with, I don't have time for a lot of MP's but I still think the majority would have the decency to fall on their swords if they were in Johnson's position.

He obviously doesn't have a decent bone in his body and he really isn't anything like a normal person. I don't know how he still has the resolve to carry on.
He doesn't give a sh1t, and why would he.

I'm sure we'd all act very differently at work if we had zero chance of ever being disciplined or sacked.

He is ideologically vacuous - so he can't even rely on trying to "get the job done" so to speak as he has literally no interest in politics or running the country.

He is simply treading the path that has been set for him, at an early age all the while trying to have as good a time as possible and not giving a fcuk about anyone other than himself.

Of course the electorate knew this years ago but still voted him into power.
