Johnson said he wasn't aware of any formal complaint against Pincher, this is directly challenging that version.

He will obviously try and go through the usual repertoire of responses before proclaiming that he was ambushed by words.

Extraordinary: Former Foreign Office chief says government is lying about Pincher​

Lord McDonald said Boris Johnson was briefed in person about an inquiry into Chris Pincher - despite Dominic Raab saying he had not been informed.​


The former Foreign Office chief, Lord McDonald of Salford has said the government is lying about Chris Pincher in an extraordinary statement.

Simon McDonald has submitted a formal complaint to Parliamentary Standards Commissioner Kathryn Stone saying the account given by Downing Street was “not true”.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab confirmed that Mr Pincher – who resigned last week over allegations he groped two men in a private members’ club – had been investigated in October 2019 but said it did not lead to any formal disciplinary action.

He said that while he had informed the then chief whip, Mark Spencer, about the investigation he did not believe it was necessary to tell the Prime Minister.

Downing Street had said that while Mr Johnson was aware of concerns about Mr Pincher when he made him deputy chief whip in February, they had either been resolved or were unsubstantiated.

However, in his letter Lord McDonald said: “Mr Johnson was briefed in person about the initiation and outcome of the investigation. There was a ‘formal complaint’.

“Allegations were ‘resolved’ only in the sense that the investigation was completed; Mr Pincher was not exonerated. To characterise the allegations as ‘unsubstantiated’ is therefore wrong”

Not sure what's worse - Bozo who lies his **** off almost on a daily basis, or the Tory MPs who are slavishly backing him, refusing to acknowledge the enormous hole Bozo is digging.
Or the backbenchers who COULD change things but are sitting on their hands, muttering and mumbling, watching this country slide down the U-bend.

Proportional Representation is desperately needed asap..........

Bozo is just doing what he always does, the rest are just lower than a snakes belly cos the have the chance to change things and not only flatly refuse to but then condone his behaviour. They are the real villains every snakey one of them. It is pathetic how they just continue to defend what happens and having no pride. They are just a disgusting party with no ethics and hopefully the electorate will remember what their local Tory
MPs have stood for over the last few years and will get rid.
