Too many players we're hoping to get lucky on

Silvera, Rogers, Gilbert, Greenwood, van der Berg, Latte yer havin a Lath, etc .

This transfer window and recruitment strategy has been a disaster. Scott is focusing too much on trying to find the next best thing, which is okay if done on a small scale, but almost all of our players have been gambles.

We also have too many players that can interchange across the front four. Jack of all positions but master of none. All in all, Scott has gambled with this squad and left the manager with sh!te to pick from.

Although the squad has yet to gel.. one day after the transfer window.. we do have a more stable squad from which to chose from.. at lease regarding the players we have brought in vs the players that have left. Less injuries and more games from which to be selected for.

It's more like our existing players that need to get up to speed. Much like when we went through a difficult start to the season under Neil Warnock.. it's our defence!

Extremely foolish to put all our eggs in the project basket but its also extremely cheap.

Yes far too many variables
Akpom’s replacement Latte Laff has played 228 minutes and scored 1 goal
(£5m.. half of Akpom’s fee.. probably all we had)

Gile’s replacement Bangura signed on transfer deadline day snd has not played yet. (£1m plus wages to replace a loan player)

The rest are upgrades on what we had at the start of last season.. mainly because they are not injured.

Engel not giles replacement anymore

Ha ha

The stark reality is that we have 5 players in our attacking make up with zero experience in this league at this level that we are hoping will come good. But we have no idea how good they really are.

Rogers
LL
Silvera
Gilbert
Bangura as poss lw

It’s a huge gamble.

All the while leaving a senior Aussie international that knows this league and has scored regularly in it -on the bench ( now this o don’t get).

A good example of our carelessness we buy two left backs both foreign, neither have experience of the championship both have come from weaker leagues than the championship. The pragmatic approach would be to sign at least one left back who is a ready made championship player.
You should apply for head of recruitment by the sounds of things, you have it all worked out

Buy one of them and keep Bola, all the while saving money and retaining experience.

Exactly!

These players don't need to be heavily relied on immediately though as we still have the basis of players that was performing well last season but due to losing chuba we need to think about a formation change and could utilise something along the lines of the following IMO especially when needing to go and win a game but what ever we persist on as a team it needs to be consistent to get to gel if it's to be new players.

Last year team prior to Jan and replacing with this year's players.

Steffen - Dieng

Smith
Fry
Lenihan
Giles - Bangura or Engel

Howson
Hackney

Forss
Chuba - Mgree
Mcgree - Jones

Crooks - latte lath

Could we play 433 take mcgree out for O'brien or howson for O'brien with forss and Jones either side of latte lath

or play 352

Dieg

Dijksteel (Jones)

RVB (Fry)
Lenihan
Paddy (Clarke - if ever fit)

Bangura (engel)

Hackney (Crooks)
Howson (obrien)
Obrien (mcgree)

Forss
Latte lath

Dont think silvera or Rogers is ready at the moment.

Just showing that there are options but I think we should be playing two up top.

We've come too far
To give up who we are
So let's raise the bar
And our cups to the stars
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
