Too many changes in one go at a crucial time

If Forss and Greenwood were both injured then fair enough, but he shouldn't have brought Barlaser off for O'Brien. That's the kind of change you make with 5 minutes to go, to slow the game down. It felt like an unnecessary change.

The frustrating thing is that Carrick can wait too long to make changes when we go behind or we're drawing and struggling.

We're you watching the tele cos the commentators said it was a keeper error, but the lad had acres of space. As soon as Clarke got the ball I thought we're in trouble here. Glover got a hand (finger?) to it but our defence was no where.

Not the fact that none of our defenders were within 3 miles of the goalscorer when he received the ball? Unbelievably bad defending has cost us yet again I'm afraid.

He could have smoked a cigar and still scored, where the heck was the left back?

Glover could have done better too keeping it out

Yep Glover made a howler but once again Engel went AWOL - the lad just can’t defend and he’s costing us games. Next season there has to be a dramatic improvement from us defensively, starting with sorting both full back positions out. We need a right and left back who know how to actually defend their goal. I’d have taken Ayling a couple of seasons back but he’s coming up 33 and lost a bit of pace. Smith is similar age and coming back from an injury like he’s had will be hard so that is a key area to improve on. I think Engel and Bangura are decent squad players but neither should not be first choice left back. Looks like another big rebuild for us in the summer because Hackney will no doubt be gone, Howson needs a replacement and we will need at least one, preferably two centre forwards as well.

Some of the comments on here are embarrassing. Saying Engel no where to be seen! He literally crossed the ball which they cleared and broke from. How was he suppose to get back within about 6 seconds ?

You could argue if anything Ayling was pushed to far up!
It's as if they haven't realised the role he's asked to play, despite watching him every week.

Was Greenwood hurt?

What was up with Forss?

Barlaser wasn’t injured.. Engel didn’t look injured either tbh

Forss a slight knock, Greenwood felt a bit of a stretch in the old hamstrings. I think trying to get to Aylings fantastic cross field pass after about 70/75 minutes.
I suppose with all the injuries we've had, understandable that we're maybe being a bit cautious.

Surely we just play the game we have in front of us and then deal with the next game. A slight knock and a bit of a stretch..sounds like we bottled it.

Silvera isn’t the answer to any question, the lad is so out of his depth. At the time I was thinking bring dijksteel on for forss if he had to go off and hold onto the 1-0 lead, in hindsight seeing it play out I am even firmer in my belief he should have done that given how ayling was turned inside out by clarke

The LB went missing and GK should have saved it.

He didn't go missing, he'd literally just put in a cross by their corner flag.

They counter attacked immediately from that cross and he's not Usain Bolt, harsh to expect him to get back in time from that position.
Other players should have picked Rusyn up.
