Not sure can do anything can they? unless UEFA do something, its a criminal investigation. Its down to the club to play him and release him for court dates etc.
 
Yep, but its only accusations at the moment.

Most of football is bent imho,its no different to most sports and there are always players managers and referees who will take a few quid. I think the Liverpool carry on stunk of it.

The problem is young lads with loads of money and spare time. If any of them like a bet it is a recipe for disaster.

Gambling can destroy lives. I’m fortunate to have no interest in it, but know people who have struggled big time in the past.

Said this exact thing to a geordie 'mate' this morning.

Lots of free time and lots of money... young daft lads need better guidance.
 
I expect the weird Internet brain folk trying to make out that Toney was punished differently because he was black will go mysteriously quiet when Tonali receives a similar ban for less egregious bets.

Also ignoring that it took nearly a year for Toney's punishment to come about, and he was able to continue playing during the whole process.
 
Fagioli named Tonali as the person who gave him the app, that's why Fagioli got done first, I think Tonali fine and ban might be quite severe.
 
It's funny because it's Newcastle, but I'd be furious if I was a fan that an investigation that was clearly already underway when they signed the player will lead to them losing him for the rest of the season, if not longer.

AC Milan will 100% have known this was going on when they sold him.
 
I don't really think it's funny that a player has a gambling addiction though, regardless what team they play for, it's ruining peoples lives, it can happen to any one of us.

A claimed gambling addiction.

He might well do, but every single player that gets caught betting on football is going to use it as a defence to try and mitigate the punishment.

Addiction doesn’t excuse gambling on his own side anyway it’s banned it’s that simple.
