Tommy Conway

Certainly looks hungry and more urgent to make things happen than most of the others. I thought his finish was very good.

Looks a terrific signing. I just thought he was a CF who had pace and played on the shoulder.

He is so much more. A very intelligent footballer who has a knack of finding space.

I hope we don't go down the Forss route with him. He's spent his whole career as a No9. Hope we ain't trying to shoe horn him into a new position. I think he maybe wasted as 10. Especially as we have Azaz and McGree.

Interesting that LL came off and he stayed on as a actual CF.
 
I'm not seeing it to be honest. I think he looks like a striker needs to be played up top. His instinct is looking for goals not interplay and creating chances. Think he needs to be further forward.

How can you criticise his performance today. Every good attacking play went through Tommy. Came short, look to break Preston’s high press. He’s come into a new team and smashed it. Hamilton from city came with a bigger expectation and hasnt had the same positive impact. Not sure what it is with Hamilton but I just feel he’s got the djed Spence feel about him.
 
He looks really good. His finish was excellent. Had plenty of time to think about it and put it away. Would like to see him and Forss play together upfront. Two intelligent players who can finish.

I think with much less experience you've got to expect it to take Hamilton more time to settle in. I think it's unfair to expect Hamilton to hit the ground running. See Rogers last season who had more experience in terms of first team appearances (from Blackpool loan).

Not criticising Conway, just saying he looks more suited to leading the line and the likes of Azaz and McGree look better in the roles behind the striker.
 
Conway has that hunger and energy you want to see. He replaces Lath for me, who has flattered to deceive so far. If that had been Lath running through... with Conway it was never in doubt.
 
Conway looks class.
Got that change of pace to find space.
Quality on the ball.
Took his goal really well today.

He's going to be a top player.

Forss is class on the right and I don't think Carrick will deviate from 4-2-3-1 unless he feels he absolutely has to.

What about the pass from Ayling, it was inch perfect.

Conway still had a lot to do but you never felt like he would miss it. I think he's going to be a top player for us.

I did in my mind question why we bought Conway, but after seeing him for the first time yesterday, I think he's going to be a great player for us.

Agree NC Aylings pass was superb,
