Glover came to the attention of many last season when he was attacked during a pitch invasion against Melbourne Victory and he was left concussed.

He has left Melbourne City with 106 appearances under his belt, from which he kept 29 clean sheets and conceded 125 goals.

Both of those facts are grim.

It says a lot about the changing role of a goalkeeper when as much of that video was highlights of his distribution as it was about 'traditional' goalkeeping!

At the same time I was thinking I hope we go for Glover over Dieng. Strange thing this football lark.

It concerns me that in this picture there seems to be a ball right near his head and he doesn't look like he's aware of it. Maybes he's seen some cleavage in the crowd or something and that's caught his attention.

I like an occasional gamble, but with the players looking likely so far, promotion is looking a distant dream for this year at least. There has to be some experience brought in some key areas and i know there is plenty of time to do that but it simply has to be done.

Had a look on Melbourne's fan forum page for comments about Glover. Some I've found at the back end of their transfer thread of interest..
"One thing Young does much better than Glover is come out at corners and negate them. That I feel was a major course of goals against us. Saying that I haven't looked at the stats but it just seems that was a source of goals against us."

So that's not good with his feet nor good at coming for corners?
