Time and time again that the referees...

Haven't really read all the comments on this thread but scanned through.
It's very easy to be an arm chair ref, very much like it is to pick the team or run the club, this board really is full of no it alls, who in reality know F all. Gets on my nerves when people constantly slag refs off, refereeing is very difficult but so much easier when watching on TV with replays.

Are you a ref?

A tip to referees is “If you don’t see it, don’t give it”. Don’t look at reactions of players or listen to yells from the bench because they are all trying to influence you. Look at the ball and look at the contact.

No, I'm not but I'm friends with lads who have been and some who still are still refereeing , also have a few friends who's kids do it, lads 16 / 17 yrs old. Really p133es me off when people from the sidelines abuse them. They way people treat refs makes you really wonder why anyone wants to get in to it.
But without them we could not have a match. So ffs just give them a break its not like they intentionally make mistakes.

I take it you missed the game today, it wasn’t just about the guy getting the crucial decisions wrong, it was about his complete lack of engagement with players and managers a like, a rogue official, not up to the job.

Well tell them to make as many mistake's as they like, but not all against us. Then I will give them a break, until then FUUC OFF

If your good enough and play well enough and are a disciplined team no matter how the ref performs you'll win and over the course of a season be successful.
When fans and managers focus on refs its an excuse for their overall short falls, seasons and promotions really aren't down to a decision here and there going against you.

I watched a few local non league matches last year and thought the refs were very good.

I think the problem is at the top levels of the game, not helped by constant and professional cheating by the players.

Wrong.

Agree, cheats need to held to account, even if its after a game, blatant cheating can't be ignored

I agree in youth football that parents and coaches can be terrible and should behave better. But this is the professional game, there is potentially £160million at stake. These players future could be secured by 2 years in the prem, their professional pride is harmed. Think if you went to work, and put all your effort into whatever you do, only for something totally out of your control to mess it up and reduce your bonus to zero. Players aren't robots, it's a passionate game, and I'm glad it is.

There’s a BIG difference between young kids 16/17 year old learning the game, volunteering and what happened today. a championship game, playoff places as stake that can lead to a £100m payoff. getting straight forward throw in decisions wrong let alone having Dijksteel kicked off the pitch and disallowing Bola goal.

People who always look to blame others have personality issues.
Look at Alex Ferguson, his constant moaniing at refs and questioning of things like added time was uncalled for and really had no effect on the trophys they won.

Don't forget we've also had 2 players wrongly sent off and rescinded. That's two decisions that fortunately didn't cost us points but turned over days later.

The Morsy one against Luton was stunningly bad (back to ball and stricking him upper arm saying he deliberately denied a goal scoring opportunity.... How? 🙄).

The Fry 'assault' is the must blatent pen not given that I've seen in 5 years or more. You see Salah or Naughton get pens for being breathed on. Fry had his head kicked off and not even a free kick (although it would have been a pen). He didn't even get punished retrospectively for nearly taking his eye out.

I would love to here why he gave the Bola 'goal' as a foul. He was 4 yards away looking at it. The direction of the ball suggested Bolasie got the final touch.
