I have never heard of them, but just Googled it and all I can see is personalised Ceefax... Which is not a bad thing at all.

Oh, I didn't realise it was a US only product. 
I assume it uses a similar feed to the likes of Amazon Echo so hopefully so.
If not, there's a market out there waiting for someone!

Just thinking, can you not just get a app to display similar information and updates on your phone or chosen device, probably over simplifying here lol

I've never seen one tbh, but it's not a bad idea. This Tidbyt thing is meant to be permanently out on display though. It looks really cool!
Coding apps for it looks fairly straightforward - a bit like building Alexa skills. Although it's a US product you can use data feeds from anywhere, as long as you have the appropriate API (geek speak for data sharing between applications). Sort of, but I only had a few colours, so it's mainly just a cluster in one colour meaning the same trip. Blue are skiing though.
