Three of the best..

Reports suggest that we are in for THREE players to close out this summer’s transfer window.

Josh Coburn heavily linked with a loan move to Plymouth
Paddy McNair rumoured to be on his way out all summer.
Martin Payero would have been a Boca player had they not turned their noses up.

So.. not too much of a stretch to suggest we will be in for a striker, a defender and a midfielder.

‘Versatility is key’ didn’t Carrick say something like that?

McNair himself covered a lot of positions able to play right back, central defence and midfield. Martin Payero operated in a few positions here also.. less so at Banfield and Boca.

Experienced players was another quip I seem to remember from recent pressers.

12 Alex Pritchard 30yo
24 Isaac Hayden 28yo
30 Ross Stewart 27yo

Experienced, Local, Affordable
that should set us on the right track..

Shouldn’t it?

Boro are in the market for a central midfielder, an attacking midfielder and a striker to further bolster Michael Carrick's squad. [The Northern Echo]

Currently we have Lath as our sole striker unless Forss is unshackled from the Right Wing. We are "In the market" for another but who knows whether that will happen. So clearly it makes sense to send Coburn out on loan for another year - this time potentially to one of our compeititors. It appears that Gilbert is not considered ready or he would have got some game time already. Still, we could always stick Crooks or Rogers upfront again - it's worked wonders so far. 🙁

I don’t want anyone on loan.

Thats a bit silly.

We did over rely on loans last year, however we have already purchased young players with hopefully lots of potential this summer (Gilbert, SS, Rogers, VDB), so to add a couple of more experienced heads (loan or not) is hopefully the icing on the cake, and keeps us within a budget.

3 for me should we lose Patrick, Payero & Rooster;

Curtis Jones (attacking mid-field/striker)

Elliot Anderson (attacking mid-field/winger)

Javier Manquillo (defender/right back)

STRIKER:
Ross 'from friends' Stewart - Sunderland
'rock on' Tommy Cannon - Everton
Liam 'jamie' Cullen - Swansea

MIDFIELDER:
Josh 'greengrass' Brownhill - Burnley
Isaac 'salty balls' Hayden - Newcastle
Lewis 'the inspector' O'Brien - Forset

ATTACKING MIDFIELDER:
Alex 'play hard' Pritchard - Sunderland
Chris 'sad tash' Willock - QPR
Facundo 'the jewel' Pellistri - Man Utd

So Joel Piroe, Han-Noah Massengo & Zian Flemming then?

(Elliot Anderson is a great shout tbf)

On balance looking at our previous dealings, this late in the day we are looking at loan signings.. from premier league clubs. we've only go so many free squad numbers and who would they fit best? where are the signs and the patterns?

Striker
12 'rock on' Tommy Cannon - Everton - striker formerly on loan at Preston

Midfielder
24 'Isaac 'salty balls' Hayden - Newcastle - Hackney, Coulson.. we need another Hayden in the mix.

Attacking Midfielder
28 Facundo 'the jewel' Pellistri - Man Utd - Uruguayan, ex Penerol, Man Utd.. surely he's nailed on to join us?
