Thomas Glover is extremely dedicated…

Oh yeah I agree, just Dieng is a better goalkeeper and a better footballer. He tends to play a longer pass more often than Glover does and very rarely seems to play someone into bother. He’s just better.
First leg glover mixed it up.

I wonder if he was under instruction not to do so due to the absence of coburn or lath. Or due to the relative success we had in the first ten minutes in breaking through their press. (Something we failed abysmally to do so the next 80)

But Carrick should have seen what was going on and changed it. You pass from the back to keep possession, and to draw the opposition forwards. We were not keeping possession, often conceding in our own third. And after the first ten we barely broke through their press at all. The only reason to carry on was to give the team practice so they get better at it. You don't practice in a semi final, against a team which despite deserved mockery over the amount they've spent contains some truly exceptional players, and which is managed by someone renowned for the effectiveness of their pressing game.

His approach to the chillwell header was worse than Shilton vs Maradona
" Couldn't get a gazette under those feet "

Even so , he's done alright
