This says everything about this government

The Guardian - Ministers have rebuffed an offer by nursing unions to suspend planned strikes in return for negotiations on pay, arguing that it was not possible for the government to amend awards decided by the independent pay body for NHS staff.

It seems to me they are happy with conflict to deflect from the continuous mistakes they make week in and week out. I wonder if the PMs took up Mick Lynch's offer?

Divide and rule...that's their mantra....
Turn ordinary folk against one another, it's worked before...
There isn't enough people , unfortunately, who can see through this scumbag government......
The BBC local news interview a woman on the street last week about the postal strikes....her reply was " I think it's wrong , people NEED to receive their Xmas cards, it's terrible"
What chance do you have?

This government are scum. No other word for it*

*Ok I can actually think of a few others if I put my mind to it.

As Wes Streeting said in the Commons, "they know that patients are going to suffer this winter, they don’t have a plan to fix it, so instead of acting to improve care for patients and accept responsibility, they want to use nurses as a scapegoat in the hope that they avoid the blame."
And the RW media will just love attacking the 'greedy' unions.

Cant give thestrikers my support, not when troops are having their christmas cancelled to do the job of someone who is on far more money them. Im sure if the troops were called to go to a conflict they wouldnt mind because thats what the are trained for but to do someoneelses job is bang out of order. The average squaddie dose his 4 to 8 yrs then leaves because the money is cxxp. I doubt they will get a pay rise after al this. Other countries look after their troops where here they are treated like sh1t.

So you are happy for nurses to use food banks to supplement their wages?

Edit: I think I mentioned on another post that Squaddies are gutted at being asked to support other services but as Festa said, divide and conquer.

What on earth does that have to do with the strikers? Blame the Government for threatening to use them as strike-busters.

No, i just thomk that Squaddies get the rough end of the stick. . I work in nhs alongside nurses, my daughters a nurse. None of them have mentioned having to use foodbanks however maybe they would feel embarrassed to do so. By the way im on the bottom of the nhs payscale.

New member comes in and supports the governments stance. or at the least not supporting the strikers.

As said by NYboro above, it's not the strikers fault the government are choosing to use forces as strike busters. Direct your ire where it belongs, rather than being so gullible to do exactly what the government want you to do and attack the strikers.

The evidence that nurses use foodbanks is not anecdotal. It's a proven fact.

And the irony of your comments about army pay is clearly lost on you.

I don’t think I can give my full support, not when I know it’s spoiling @FatCat Christmas shenanigans.

I know it's a joke post, and hopefully FC sees it that way too, but let's try and refrain from having a pop at posters that haven't been on a thread, even if it is a joke.

No offence intended to your good self @Sexpom 👍

This is the kind of thinking we're up against in this country I'm afraid. Beggars belief really
