This says everything about this government

A former Organiser in the NHS on Talk Radio this morning [ now retired] talked of a report he questioned in the 1990s which was compiled by a "think tank", who suggested the most effective way of giving away our NHS to private pockets was "by stealth". Its worked very well. On its knees - the NHS is prime meat for complete selling off to private profitieers and giant health-care organisations. Many MP`s are sponsored by, or accepted donations from, private healthcare companies and health Insurance Corporations.(n)

Doesn't even have to be stealth these days. The compliant state run media just play lip service to the issues now. Your average non-politically minded fella down the pub tends to only notice the state of things if it affects them personally or the media tell them they should be outraged by it.

When I worked for the Department of Health in 2010 on ministerial briefing it was big news if the 4 hour A&E waiting times weren't met or if ambulances were delayed or if just one patient spent a night on a hospital trolley. We were onto the NHS straight away for answers ready to prepare press lines to take and prepare for parliamentary questions on it.

Those things are the norm now and no-one bats an eyelid. It should be front page news and a national scandal. It would've been a decade ago.

It's pretty much the only thing they have left to throw back at Labour, hence the gvt continually trying to string out these strikes.

I'm sure they're also considering the critical mass of disruption versus credit for sorting it out. It might be that they're prepared for things to get a lot worse before ending the disruption and claiming credit?

This is 100% about optics for the conservative party, any other argument is simply devised to meet the primary optical aim - keeping this in the news.

I see they’re hiding behind the supposed ‘independent’ pay review body now, saying that they’ve offered what has been recommended. That would be the same pay review body that the government sets the remit for, including the ‘affordability’ of any pay offer.

For five years, from 2015-20, the government instructed all public sector pay review bodies that any pay award must be below 1%. How independent is that?

Bulschit Baffles Brains - though few are buying it these days.
Watch the "media" mount an enormous campaign of misinformation, disinformation and victim stories designed to deliberately undermine the strikes.

Here's how the independent pay body sets their recommendations.

Govt: Here's a 1% increase. You recommend how we spend it
IPB: Erm, that's not enough. The minimum we can recommend is 3%. We'll make it confusing so they can't really figure it out. Most people will get screwed.
Govt: That's what we'll tell them but they're only getting 1% so they'll have to decide what they're cutting to pay for it themselves. They'll need to increase their productivity as well.
IPB: What if they strike?
Govt: Don't worry, we'll ban striking.

Surprised he didn't open with 'Cards on the table....'
The BBC ran the same scam propaganda with an article from the "Im an ex-RMT socialist blah blah" - then completely withdrew and rewrote the article after it was quickly sussed.
Its going to intensify.
Only a fool believes...............
