This is abject

The concernimg thing for me is we are going backwards. There were some very good performances when Wilder first took over. We played with purpose. You could see what we were doing but it tailed off as the season went on to end with a completely pathetic showing at pne on the last game. This season has started where last season ended. We've not out played anyone yet other than a stoke city who were in turmoil. We can talk about a difficult transfer window but that team of players should not have lost at home to cardiff and they certainly shouldn't have been 3-0 after 35 minutes.

To make matters worse the better players at the club are here on loan. Next season Giles and Muniz go back to their parent clubs.

I said tonight that I didn’t think we had a performance like that (first half), in us with this side.

It was scary how bad that was.

Quite simple for me. We needed more investment. To spend more of the money we receive. More permanent players. More than free transfers and loans.

You can only do so much coaching wise then ultimately it comes down to quality of players. More money gets you better players.

The disappointment is the players we've brought in such as mowatt and Clarke who were clearly third of fourth choice, but they don't seem to fit into a team that players wilders style in terms of energy.

Too much of a similar player in midfield.

Then spending money on striker who are t play when we should have used that money for a first team permanent midfield signing.

Wilder may or may not be to blame. I'm sure it's a bit of both, but ultimately he has to be backed and although we've got the numbers in, we've done it in a bargain basement way. We were looking at 8m strikers even after forss and hoppe signed.

Yet we couldn't spend that on a midfielder.

That's the scary thought take the loans out and the squads dreadful

It was a passive performance from the players. They need to buck their ideas up and work harder i thought. Not acceptable for a boro team and some are just not match fit enough . I'll name fry, mcnair, howson, mowatt for starters who look rusty and not up to the pace required yet
