This feels like something you’d see in the developing nations

Poor attempt at scaremongering this thread, certain things missing from certain shops shocker. Some shops have a lot more traffic than others and stuff will run out. Go back tomorrow morning and it will be restocked.
It’s funny isn’t it? I know for a fact that when the true horrors of Brexit starry hitting everyone then it’s defenders will slowly slink away. In my naivety I thought that food shortages would be a dramatic enough event to make people realise. It’s actually petrifying how many of you want to defend this. You are going to have to think of how low you’re prepared to stoop in order to defend your unicorn. I know I shouldn’t be shocked but I am, joking about food shortages is pretty poor.

I don't know if you lot regularly ship for food but if you go to my local Sainsbury's after 4 they've run out of loads of things. They ran out of chicken once. The only time anything out of the usual happened was during the first couple of weeks of the first lockdown. Seemed pretty normal when I went a couple of days ago. Maybes it's regional.
May just be in the North. I counted 12 cans of two different types of baked bean on the shelves. I managed two of the five items I went in for today.

A lot of people on this thread using the I don’t see anything in my store so it can’t be happening elsewhere it must be scaremongering

Omg. There’s not 6 different brands of tomato ketchup to choose from, how will we survive?

The country is not struggling to feed its people, there are temporary supply chain issues caused by numerous factors including but not limited to impacts from Brexit.

If people cannot adapt eating habits to reflect what’s on the shelves then we should be fearful for the human race when the effects of climate change on food production and transport become more obvious. We need to move to eating what’s in season and available rather than wanting what we want when we want.

I couldn't give a toss about brexit In all honesty so you cant pin that on me and where are the jokes about food shortages? You obvious want to get your point across and that's fair enough but maybe avoid scare tactics and maybe be a bit more courteous and respectful then maybe people will interact with you better.

There’s plenty of jokes on here. It’s honestly shocked me a little. As you know, I have a low opinion of people who blindly defend Brexit right now. Even for me though I admit I’m surprised at the reaction here. Some people are so desperate to defend their Brexit that they are making jokes about food shortages. Even I didn’t think that people like @Colin Warnek would stoop that low. We have reached a new nadir

You're genuinely wasting energy in talking to me about brexit, people can defend it if they want, if they voted for it then more power to them they got what they wanted.

Yeah it just shocked me that what they wanted was food shortages.

strange that they would find it funny though. Given it’s part of their Brexit
It’s not though is it? It is a combination of factors including but not limited to Brexit - or you lacking the intelligence to comprehend this very simple fact.

It’s Brexit. Let’s be honest. The rest of the EU has Covid and it doesn’t have food shortages. Let’s start being honest and stop lying about these things

Got interrupted at work by the Mrs on Friday all of a panic as she had been watching that Kay burley “news” programme. Had to down tools and drive her to the local Sainsbury’s as quickly as possible. Got there shelves all full - you can imagine my face.

thing is lots of people are being pinged - there might be some delays but let’s not pretend anyone is going hungry!

No, it isn’t. You are so myopic and lacking the maturity to understand alternate viewpoints, so rather than get into another ”debate” where you tell people they are stupid, challenge them to counter your argument upon which you simply restate your opinion and double down on the insults, then I’ll leave you with this from the BRC.

I’ll also mention there are a shortage of HGV drivers as there has been a lack of lessons and tests occurring due to lockdown, not just a deficit due to Brexit.

Retail has also seen a massive upswing in the past 6 weeks.

The deal we have for Brexit is as much the fault of those who voted Tory as it is those who voted Brexit.

However typing all that has been a waste as you’ll simply ignore the facts as they don’t fit your blinkered narrative.

Do not accuse me of lying again when you are simply unable to grasp the complexity of the situation.

It’s not the pinging that is stopping the drivers

it’s that fact the European drivers get paid by the km and they can’t afford to wait at the border as they don’t get paid
