They’ve turned on Mogga

Tony Mowbray built a promotion winner team for Karanka for peanuts, took over from Strachan when the actual attendance in the stadium was about 10k.

We beat Sheffield Wednesday to go top on sky.

If he was given the cash he would have taken us up.

Karanka got loads of premier league loan players and was heavily backed.

Also this forum is named after him.

He should have a stand named after him. Legend.
Varga at Right Back kickstarted Karanka..

Ayala, Friend, Leadbitter, Carayol, Adomah.. immense

I’ve never read so many deluded narcissists on a forum than on RTG. You’d think they were Real Madrid after a win. The similarities between them and us are uncanny yet they talk about us as if we are inferior. The last few decades we blow them out of the water. I think the real issue is they know we have embarrassed them, in head to head games for 20 years and in winning a cup, getting to finals and a major European final. I almost feel sorry for them considering the sizeable fan base.

Considering their history over the last ten years with their pathetic fall from the Premiership to playing in the third tier of English football - they should be very careful what they wish for.
Trouble is they are all a bit thick and cant see beyond the end of their noses.
Mogga can move on and will find another job no problems.(y)

Would Mogga even have the right skill set to be a director of football now? I think that role has evolved quite a lot in recent years. He has a lot of knowledge and an eye for a player but I think it's much more than that. Think you need to be quite strategic and analytical. It's a senior management role in many respects. Very different to being a coach.

When the time comes to replace Scott I hope we look for a specialist who has relevant experience and a track record in that particular type of role. Not just go for "name" however experienced or respected they are.

Football at the upper levels is very much a science with artistry on the ball being replaced by efficiency.

I prefer games where efficiency is given a back seat, Man Utd game last night for instance.

The domination over them goes back more than a couple of decades. In the last 50 years we've beaten them 34 times, they've beaten us just 14 times. lol 14 times in 50 years. Its no wonder they no longer want to call it a derby. Their record against us on the pitch in that time is pathetic. Funny how it was always classed as a rivalry by the older generations of mackems. This current lot can't hack it 🤣

Much as I love Mogga and know he loves the club, I don't think that he would be a good fit in the new setup. If the mackems sack him, which they will eventually I suspect, he'll be able to get another manager/coach role, if he wants it. But he's been here and done that and it ended messily with many on here and elsewhere calling him worse than muck. He doesn't need that, I wouldn't want it.

No doubt having the right network is key as well.

After we smashed them earlier in the season I thought I would tot up how many times Boro have played Sunderland since I've been watching football (back to 1991-92 season) and the result was we've played them 38 times in all comps, Boro have won 20, Sunderland 9, Drawn 9. We're pretty dominant over them.

Yeah but they get more fans, and won loads over 100 years ago - so who's the real winner in those games ?

I know we have our fair share of whoppers, but that's hilarious.
6 games in and they're going in hard on how amazing they are.

Though I suppose plenty of us thought we were in serious trouble after 6 games too, so swings and roundabouts
Boro could be top of the league, clear of second by 20 points and I still couldn't imagine saying something as cringeworthy as that
